What number are we on?!

Yeah, Ava was Maureen tonight. I've seen her 3 times and other than TMOLM, she's just meh. I explained in the last thread why her take on OTM bugs me so much.

On another note, I really hope someone other than Destan is Collins the next time I go see it. He just seems too lethargic, and he was speaking more than singing in quite a few spots.

Ava was all right when I saw her last Saturday, but she wasn't exactly memorable. And Maureen's character is so powerful that it *has* to be memorable.

Another Day, I almost felt Antonique was too emotional. In my mind, she's still trying for seductive and manipulative at that point.

Destan (Collins) also didn't stand out for me *at all* until I'll Cover You: Reprise. He was great in that, but before and after he was pretty blah, which bothered me a lot more than I thought it would have.

Matt Caplan needs his own thread. This is not a compliment.

BG, you HAVE to see Marcus as Collins. If you get word that he's on, run- don't walk- to the Nederlander because he's amazing!

How was Matt tonight?

Haha Dramatic...start one about him!
#205

What number are we on?!

Is he the understudy, or is he replacing Destan?

You know Katt, I think I will. After I (hopefully) see him again tomorrow (technically today).

What number are we on?!

I was generally okay with Matt's performance tonight except for Happy New Year (too much Mark-as-horndog) and Goodbye Love (way too low-key for the Mark/Roger fight).

Ooh- I had wanted to mention this. Matt looked like he was about to piss his pants in Goodbye Love. Will was tomato red and screaming and really physical (Will was even holding Matt by the back of his neck so he was looking at him) and Matt kind of just looked at a loss in terms of what to do.

I recognize the addiction to being alive.

Marcus is Mr.J and the Collins understudy, but the SM is on crack and puts on Philip McAdoo all the time instead and he's soooo bad. Seriously, I've met so many people that have seen Marcus once and thought he was the best Collins in years. And when all the cynical bitches on CB love him, you know he has to be good!

And I'm spent. I'm heading back to my dorm. Night all!

Okay, I made it. It's called "Matt Caplan Appretiation or Something Like It" because it's not a HATE thread. I really want to just discuss bad (and some good) aspects of his performance.

Annnnd, I triple-posted on my first thread-start. EXCEEEELENT.

Whoa, part five. Impressive.

Destan Owens made a very boring Collins. Mark Richard Ford was the best (in my opinion), but I found Destan seemed like he didn't really want to be there.
