Have a good day, Katt.
I'm going to have to take a nap later to survive today. I have my first lab at nine, and I'm PRAYING that they don't keep us the full three hours or do anything substantial because I will not be able to function.
I think I'm just going to come out and tell her that's it getting really ridiculous for me not to be able to sleep through the night anymore. It's unfair for me to be woken up in the middle of the night by whatever she's doing, because broken sleep is bad for you. And while she doesn't see that as an issue, I care, because I get sick a lot and stuff, and I really can't afford to do anything that's going to f*ck with my body this semester. I mean, we have another room, I don't think it's too much to ask if I ask her to use it.
awe, I'm sorry! My sisters like that. She sleeps all day, and then at night shes awake, so she goes downstairs in the kitchen (where my room is also located, not 'in' the kitchen, but near) and starts talking on the phone, watching tv, and eating food..and I'm very sensitive to noise, so I buggout.
If you have another room, you should definitely ask her to use it when she's not sleeping and you need to. It annoyed me so much last year when my roommate would talk on her cell phone in the middle of the night while I was trying to fall asleep and she could have easily sat in the common room to take the call.
I've never been able to sleep during the day unless I was seriously ill at the time, and most times I find it very difficult to fall back to sleep once I wake up. I generally tend not to be too bothered by noise when I'm sleeping, but I need almost total darkness in order to stay asleep, which seriously limits my ability to sleep late on days I don't have to get up early. I do worry about making noise and waking up my roommate the two days a week when I get up an hour earlier than she has to, but I know that she can (and usually does) sleep during the day.
That's aweful, Em. My roommate freshman year used to wake up at 7 a.m. on Saturdays to do homework.
alright i'm officially PISSED OFF-- why is this like the worst week of my life? oh my god..
What's wrong, Mel?
im sorry that i've been in a bad mood in the past few days, I know it must be annoying.. someone keeps on telling my sister everything I do. Not that I do anything particulary wrong, but it's just really annoying because she likes to tease me about it constantly. I think it's one of my friends and I don't understand why they keep on doing that.. like thats not normal.
Unfortunately, when you're in high school, friends running their mouths and blabbing your secrets is all too "normal." It really sucks not being able to trust your friends with what you tell them.
I think it's ridiculous that I had to tell them not to go around running their mouths. I really just hope it wasn't anybody I'm going to the city with tomorrow cause that'll just ruin my day. Ugh, highschool sucks.
See, I called it yesterday. Roommates stink.
So joining with the people who are having sh*tty mornings, I SLEPT THROUGH MY FIRST CLASS. I have never done that in my life! It's not like it's a huge deal - it's a dance class, I know the professor, and we're allowed to miss 2 classes. But, it just throws me off and now I'm scared I'll do it again. I'm not quite sure if my alarm didn't go off or if it went off and I turned it off. And, to top it off, my roommate is still sleeping so I can't get back into my room and do anything substantial with the time that I now have.
*hugs Mel*
Honestly, I don't know if I've become a lighter sleeper or if she's become less considerate, but HOW can you think noisy stuff won't wake somebody? Oy.
I used to sleep through classes CONSTANTLY.
Especially with someone you've lived with for almost 2 years, how can she not have some idea of your sleep schedule and what you can and cannot sleep through?
Sometimes, she's a little flighty. Like when at ten to seven, she asked if I thought she should sleep. I know? Like I care? It's just like... common sense. You don't do loud things. I guess it's me being annoying if typing keeps me awake, but when you type that fast, it's LOUD. When she finally went to sleep and I dozed off for a little while more around 7:15, I heard clicking noises in my head, because now I associate them with sleep. I don't expect to sleep without hearing clickcclickclickclick all the time.
it's just rude.. if your sleeping she shouldn't be doing anything with loud noises out of consideration for you. I think you should talk to her about it.
If she's typing at that random hour when most normal people are asleep, can't she go sit at somewhere else in your room?
I'm sorry that everyone's having such a bad morning. Mine's not bad, but I have an important meeting this afternoon that I'm not looking forward to or prepared for at all.

bad mornings aren't fun..they usually lead to bad days. But I'm trying to get into a good mood for city tomorrow
.
kinda random..but I noticed awhile ago-- do you think its a coinsidence that Anthony Rapp's book is being released the same day as Jonathan Larson's birthday?
She's very lax about EVERYTHING. I have a feeling she's going to be like "oh, sorry! I'll just be really quiet! I can be quiet! I swear, I'll just be more quiet." and think that's cool. It'll be the same. Like, it's not that simple. I'm hearing noises in my head because of her? No way.
Who GOES to sleep at 7 am? Honestly.
I don't want to get in a fight with her. We never fight. Which is really rare for roommates. But like, seriously. We have the other room, and maybe it's a little inconvenient to move, but why not use it and let me sleeep? There's no NEED to be confined to one place. My bed happens not to be movable. A laptop is.
you don't have to fight with her..just talk to her about it nicely. Updated On: 1/23/06 at 11:43 AM
I am trying so hard not to doze off on my keyboard right now. I think nia said she was going to try to get online from the library today, and I don't want to miss her.
Sorry Em *hugs*
Next time, you should go make breakfast. Really loudly, lots of pots and pans. Then take a shower and blowdry your hair in the room.
I slept through my first class today as well. I got a call from the Kennedy Center (WTF!?) at 10am and realized I had forgot to set my alarm. It was just a lecture in my easy class, so I'm not too stressed about it, but it's definitely a bad way to start off the week
I have no school this week , except for midterms..but i'll pretend those don't exist.
