Posted: 1/23/06 at 1:08pmIf you want a nice long read, something like Bonfire of the Vanities is excellent. I read it a couple of years ago and found it completely fascinating - it's about NYC in the 1980s and the culture of greed and the harm it can do.

Posted: 1/23/06 at 1:08pmI like books by Nicholas Sparks (a walk to remember, the notebook)

*Thinks*
Okay well if you like good romance stories [like the Notebook] than anything by Nicholas Sparks. The Guardian, The Notebook, The Rescue, and the Wedding by him are good.
White Oleander
Legally Blonde is good. It's different than the movie, but still funny.
Give me a minute while I think of more. I read so much that I forget about a lot of the good books I've read.

Posted: 1/23/06 at 1:09pmAww, that makes me sad, because I like this one, although I'm not even half way through it.

We don't have Equus, Allie... I read Dorian Gray.
I hate romances, M3, but thanks.
I don't think I like Maguire's style enough to struggle through another book.
Will check on Bonfire.

Wicked is okay...I just read it.
If you like books about dogs, Lochinvar Luck and Lad, a Dog are good.

Posted: 1/23/06 at 1:11pmIf you're in the mood for something a bit funnier, Megan McCafferty's novels are great. Sloppy Firsts (and the sequel, Second Helpings) are about a high school student who is fed up with everything going on around her.

Okay... anyone who wants it, PM me now and I'll try to respond to you within the next couple minutes or after I get home from school (I have to go back to school for two more periods).
Nia, it's... blonde? Kinda on the shaggy side, I guess... like how it is in that video of Adam and Heather singing "Elaborate Lives."
