I see, skittles. For some reason it never occurred to me that kids have grown up listening to his stuff. I find Blue Moves to be one of his most fascinating albums. It has some really strange things on it, but also some gorgeous songs, like "Someone's Final Song" and "Cage the Songbird."
I'm not feeling very well, sort of achy and groggy, so I'm going to bed now...

Feel better soon Chloe! I love Adam's version of What I Did For Love, it was so amazing. I really like both CD's, some of my favorite songs are on Civilian, but I think I like Model Prisoner as a whole better.

I've gone to lots of concerts and purposely screamed and stuff. But I've never been so moved by a song that I reacted audibly beyond my control- until now. When Adam sang What I Did For Love there was a point, and I'm not even sure what the line was, but something about his voice and the sincerity in his face... that I squealed. It was like an excited high pitched sigh that just came out of me. It sounds really dumb trying to explain it, but it was the weirdest feeling to be that moved emotionally that it came out of me physically.
I'm glad you guys started talking about Adam's albums because I was wanting to ask a question about a song, so it was a great segue. I love Book of Endings and I want your opinions on a couple of the lines.
I know what the song is about as a whole, it made a lot more sense once I read the info on cdbaby.com. I take it that some of the time "I" refers to Adam himself (such as 'but I wrote this song') and at other times it refers to the fan's point of view (such as 'i've seen you 15 times, I deserve you'. I get a little confused. But what does he mean exactly by "I don't want to be your book of endings" and also "I don't want to be the scars I'm bearing" and "I'm just pretending" (pretending what?)
I just got the CD at the Indiana show so I haven't had enough time to analyze the songs for myself just yet, but I wanted your input. Sorry if the answers seem obvious, I guess it's just going over my head at the moment.

hee. I'm in Adam's MySpace top 8. I mean, I know HE doesn't run the page himself, but that still made me warm and fuzzy inside.
"I don't wanna be the scars I'm bearing. I'm just a little shy of not quite caring...."
Just pretending to care, is how I always read it. He says "I don't wanna be your book of endings, take a little time, I'm just pretending...." -- I think he means that while having fans is obviously good and, well, necessary for success, he doesn't want people to do like that chick who e-mailed him constantly and said her life absolutely *depended* on him responding to her e-mails. He doesn't want to be that person.

Are you sure he doesn't have some input on how his site is run? I honestly doubt it, but the chances of being his top 8 out of 6485 are so slim!

Hah, I thought that might be you Em. You're the only one that's left comments on Anthony's myspace that don't make my head hurt.

Then again, does he really know your name? It would probably be more plausible if you had a photo of yourself up.
It's cool either way, though. Are you still in Mano's top 8?

Exactly. He doesn't know my name. I mean, the comment I posted after the show said something about it being worth the drive from NYC, but... my inclination is to think that the person running the page saw my sane comments and thought I was cool?
I'm not in Mano's anymore, but that's cool. I was in it for a while.

Mano just doesn't want people to think that he's friends with a puppet.

There was some innuendo in a few a your comments. You are also one of the only sane people who comment, so that's probably why your up there.
You'll be back in Mano's soon.
