After reading through some of the latest posts and replies on the Adam LJ community, I truly feel bad for Adam.
Yes, he has thousands of fans ready to sleep with him, but I'd personally feel sad singing songs that obviously have some emotion put into them for a crowd which, if message boards and other internet postings are any indication, is probably largely comprised of "fans" who couldn't care less about his actual work and would rather steal his jacket or truly believe he has a "secret relationship" with Anthony.

Personally, the whole... "I can say whatever I want it's my fangirlism!" stuff is the part that gets me; being a "fangirl" does not excuse making up stuff that's not true and spreading it around just because you want it to be true.
My opinion of the webmaster on that site has plummeted.
What happened? Who IS the mod, anyway?

Exactly. Even more sad is that some people apparently DO believe they're having a secret relationship. Talk about repeating a lie so often it's become the truth.
I mean, it's hard for me to be all, "AWW POOR ADAM" when, well, he has many people ready to do him and, of course, some good fans. Still, though.

Em, go to the community and look at the posts and comments from April 26.
The mod is an idiot whose head could not possibly be any larger as a result of running the community. Remember the girl who got an autograph and picture at one of the concerts because she asked for a photo and announced that she was his LJ mod? That's her.
Right, and they believe they have the right to believe something that people who KNOW tell them is untrue just because that's their "fangirlism." It's so warped! I have fantasies, but I don't *actually think they happen.*
I feel badly in general that part of what comes with the territory is this kind of insanity, but I don't really pity him, since it has its perks and it's part of his job, really -- unfortunately.

It's like "fangirlism" (who the hell invented that word?) is on a special level that is above being criticized.
It makes absolutely no sense.
Maybe I should start posting everywhere that as a fan, it's my prerogative to think and insist that Adam and Raul have mad, hot, wild, passionate sex.
Of course, Em, we ALL know that's true.
There are two things that stick out for me in this situation. One is that the she makes no distinction between characters and real people, and the other is that she seems to think that the poster who originally wrote that stuff about Adam and Anthony and then was telling people to "shut up" and "f*ck off" might be a valuable member of the community. Oh, and she didn't back up her supposed co-moderator who originally banned that poster.

(about Adam & Raul)
Hey, all!
Just got home and got to see the BWW video. So awesome! Such good quality, too. And not even censored for Jesse's little comment. :)
Glad to know I'm not alone. I responded to the mod's post. I think it was incredibly irresponsible of her to post that and someone needed to say something that wasn't kissing her ass. She's basically saying that it's completely okay to objectify Adam instead of respecting him as person.
Why am I not surprised Fizz posted to agree with her?
Her head must've gotten big as a result of being the only one to like... lay a hand on Adam the night she met him. I spoke with her once or twice through another board, and she thought I was the coolest person ever because I had met Adam.
She should keep better tabs on what goes on there, though. Connie, who runs A-P.com (is she the co-mod on LJ?) keeps really tight watch over what gets posted, because she wants the site to remain respectable.
Em -
I'm just curious, how many times have you met Adam? From what I've heard, you seem to know him on a casual basis. Just curious.
Skittles, I just read your post on the LJ and applaud both your sentiments and mode of expression.
A bunch. Over the course of almost six years, though. He still keeps his distance, obviously, but he's familiar with and seemingly comfortable around me; he definitely knows who I am. I know it's not a big deal or terribly meaningful in the grand scheme, but he's been great.
I find it nice when actors and actresses remember fans. It makes them seem more like regular people, which they should be viewed as, in my opinion.
It definitely brings them down to earth, I think; I've always looked at him as a star, and because of that, as someone kind of "scary." As he's become a little more chill around me, it's allowed me not to freak out as much around him.
Thanks, Chloe. I have this fear she'll ban me just for disagreeing with her or something and creating more "drama", but it needed to be said.
For me, meeting an actor made me see them more as a real person and less as the entity off in the distance that I could objectify without consequence. Unfortunately, I guess she didn't have that same experience of enlightenment.
I think it's nice how actors remember fans. It's one of the many things that I love about broadway. I've only had one actress remember me. I know it doesn't make me 'special' or anything, but it did make me happy.

Yes, the owner of A-P.com is a co-mod on the LJ community, but Miss Noelle apparently disagreed with her choice to ban the delusional girl.
Mel, where is your avatar photo from?
