I agree, Fantab. Those scenes really wouldn't have taken up that much time, and they do so much to explain the plot holes left by taking them out.
Yea, especially Halloween.

Aw, I thought Adam looked cute as hell on Tony Danza. I apparently didn't pay much attention to the shoes!
I agree, Fantab. Although... I'd definitely liked to have seen them in the movie, but people were complaining about the length as it is.
Also a little sad after realizing no deleted scene involving April (either explaining the suicide or that scene that showed up in the early trailers with April and Roger sitting in front of the window). Oh well...
Elphie, not while I'm around is on his website.
Ok, I'm off to chase around little rugrats. Bye!
"I can see now all those people dissing Columbus and the cast all over again and saying how Goodbye Love and Halloween were terrible and should have been cut out of the movie."
No, they would never say that because then they would have to admit that Columbus was right in not having them included in the cinematic release.
I read about the deleted scenes on CB too and thought it would have been better if they were included. I didn't like the alternate ending idea though, it just sounds too theatrical. I made a longer comment about it there, in case anyone cares enough to read my opinion on it.
I just realized that if all goes according to plan, tomorrow is going to be psycho for me. I'll be gone from noon to 10pm at least. And then I have a huge exam Thursday morning. *curls up in fetal position*

Morning, everyone!
Last night, my throat decided to get all scratchy, and I woke up this morning with almost no voice at all. Owwww.
Morning, everyone.
The info about the deleted scenes is interesting. I agree with skittles that the alternate ending sounds like it would be too theatrical for a movie (interesting that apparently Adam came across as very opposed to the alternate ending in the commentary), and I'm disappointed about the absence of the "for somebody who's been let down..." part of the Mark/Roger fight. I'm interested in seeing the Roger/Benny scene, especially since I think Benny really got the short end of the stick in the movie.
The other ending is FAR too theatrical. The guy who posted that makes himself look like an idiot, saying that that's what they should've done -- he uses the word stage, and I was just like "uh, dude. It's not a show. It's a movie."
I'm really sad that the suicide scene isn't there. So many things we'll never get to see....
This has absolutely nothing to do with anything. But I just realized that I grew up listening to Sherie Rene Scott. We used to listen to Tommy during the car rides to Florida. It's blowing my mind.

I wanted the Roger/April scenes as well. Maybe they'll do something a la the "Razzle Dazzle" issue of Chicago with extended deleted scene footage? Then again, Rent didn't gross nearly as much as Chicago, so they have no real incentive to do that.
A plus is that no only is there full length commentary, but there is commentary on the deleted scenes too.

I keep telling myself that it's only two more weeks...I'm excited to see the goodies on the DVD.

yay for DVD goodies to indulge our collective obsessions :) hehe
It comes out during my reading break. So I won't have to worry about not getting any work done.
That week is my winter break.
Nun!Adam will be returning tomorrow...but for today you get Anthony.
awwww.
Aww, Anthony!
Mandi, you make me happy. Just so you know.
Awww Anthony! Yay! I wish my book was here, it was supposed to be shipped today and arrive on Thursday but Amazon hasn't sent me anything saying they shipped it, I'm depressed about that. I want the book!
Ok so if eveeryone could send me good vibes from now to 5:30 I would appreciate it. The tour is at its first "official" stop in Cleveland and I am going for the lotto tonight. Ireally want to get it tonight, but if not, at least I am trying for teh first time opening night so I will still have 7 other shows to try (well 5 since I can't go Wed and Thurs). I'm leaving soon so I will either be back in a couple of hours saying boo I didn't get them, or I will be back in several hours to let you all know if the tour is worth going to!
