I think you forgot this one, which is my personal favorite from that batch.

Sparkly pants!
I completely agree...the whole extended dvd release has been rumbling around for a long time now...wishful thinking probably, but still...I just hate to think that some really entertaining gag reel/on the set footage/whatever is going to rot away in some vault or on the cutting floor and never be seen again.

If I see one person on LJ asking for people to upload the special features for them, I'm going to go off. The movie was bad enough, but if you're such a fan, you should spend the freakin' money and support them.

Even just rent the damn movie if they don't want to buy it. I'm going to wait a bit and buy it used from Blockbuster.
On another note, I'm really glad that they picked my two favorite cast members -- both personally and professionally -- to do the commentary.

I think a lot of people are just curious as to what is on the DVD considering it hasn't been released. I'd venture to guess that most people on the Rent LJ communities are planning on purchasing the DVD when it is released.
I think the same goes for bootlegs. While I know talk of them/posting them is against the rules on some of the Rent communities, most people who ask about them aren't looking to get their hands on a bootleg so they can skip going to the show entirely.
Perhaps I'm just overestimating how much people truly like the show and basing my judgements on what I feel with regards to some of these issues, though.

Oooh, I agree, Em. It helps that the two of them seem to get along so well.
With that, I've got to head back to school. Later, everyone!

I'm pleased about that, too, Emcee.

I meant after the release of the DVD. It's not about curiousity then, it's about some lameass "I'm a poor high schooler- teehee" excuse that I've seen used entirely too often. Bootlegs are one thing- some people really can't make it to NYC to see them (I only have issues when people make critical reviews of the show/performances from just a bootleg) but when the Rent DVD is going to be available at your local Best Buy- there is no excuse. The same thing happened with the soundtrack. It was released, but people were still posting comments like "I'm missing Finale A and La Vie Boheme B- can someone upload them?"
I feel like people will probably go out and buy it out of impatience, but maybe I give too much credit.
I'm a poor ass high school student, but I just saved birthday money to buy it. *shrug*

I haven't quite figured out how I'm going to pay for mine yet, eek. That's why I'm waiting a bit! Same with Anthony's book.
Wasn't there some reference at some point to Adam and Rosario singing and acting out Take Me or Leave Me when the audio kept rolling? I wish that was on there...
Oh man. That would be a treat to see, for sure.
Wheeeeee, Bouncy!Adam
As for the whole uploading issue, I'm rather torn. The idea of putting a commercially available CD or DVD up on the Internet for free just isn't something I want any part of (I know I'm in the extreme minority in my age group on this issue, and I do mean extreme - my jaw dropped when I saw the stats in my Marketing textbook about what percentage of high school/college students actually pay for the music they listen to or the movies they watch), but I don't even think twice about using Bittorent to download a TV show I missed or downloading any sort of live performance or other thing that isn't available in stores, and I almost feel hypocritical sometimes about looking down on the former when the latter probably isn't so legal either.
*sigh* Off to Calculus now
I got a BN gift card for Hannukkah, and I've been holding on to it for Without You and Rent. :)
Ok, I swear Nun!Adam will be back tomorrow. I've got about 100 pages left in the book, so you'll have to look at Anthony until I finish.
I've saved for Without You and Rent.

Oh, I could buy them both, but then I wouldn't be able to buy groceries for awhile.
Pfft, eating isn't important, Allie.

It wouldn't make a difference right now, because I'm never hungry when I'm sick! But still... groceries are a necessity, I think.
I've got it worked out so I won't have to buy groceries again until mid-March.
Allie, I know this is kinda far away, but don't forget tax returns are coming in April . Maybe your parents can float you until then or something.

Gooood point, Snowbird! Definitely something to think about.
I love it when the government pays me. Although it's my own monney, it still makes me happy. And April is the big one .
Lucky me, the DVD comes out on my birthday... I told my mom that's ALL I really wanted and she was shocked. I have a feeling I'll be getting some ugly clothes to go along with my Rent DVD.
On the subject of elephants, Rodney and I rode on an elephant in Thailand. I've always been drawn to elephants, having been a huge Babar fan when I was a little kid. Just wanted to jump in on the thread a little.
I love Anthony... he's so darn cute. And we now know he reads the thread.
Good thing I've been behaving myself.
You mean good thing Nun!Adam, is taking a rest for a couple of days.
