Oh my God, I was three when he wrote that song. AHHH.
Thanks, Lexi! As for your car, is it possible that the other car bumped into yours while the driver was parking?
Mandi, you're amazing.
I was four. Does that make it any better?
Ummm...I was 2.
We'll just forget about that.

BG-that's hilarious. Yeah, lots of people swear by lemons...they just don't realize the repercussions of what they're doing...
In 1990 I was 5 years old (and completely in love with NKOTB...unfortunately)
Thanks for uploading this again! I will (yet again) be unable to listen to anything else. It's awesomely bad goodness!

No problem, Chloe. Thanks for posting your version as well -- I hope I didn't insult you by posting this one, but I find that listening to a file with good sound quality always makes the music more enjoyable.
Regarding Wine and Vision/Mute: Perhaps he was in Mute since age 12 (or whatever age he was) and W&V was a side project of sorts?
BG, I think I was the one who did it considering the location of the damage. My parents are upset, but what can ya do?
It sounds like he was with the same core group throughout.
*ignores age thing*
Don't worry, I'm not insulted at all, but glad to have a better version. When people started passing songs around on the internet, no one had anything like the capacity we have now, so the quality was usually pretty low. My first computer had 4 MG's of RAM!
Heh, so I was 3 or 4 when Adam wrote that song. It does have the same sort of fun, boppy sound as the songs I enjoyed singing along to back then.
All the songs on the Mute CD are very angsty, in comparison. Anyone else think Adam went back to this sound (Thrill) a bit for Book of Endings?

I agree Chloe...I think there are glimmers of it in a lot of his other songs, but the similarities are a lot more obvious in Book of Endings.

It's funny that you bring that up! I was listening to "Book of Endings" earlier today and decided it's probably my favorite from Civilian. I love that heavier, angrier sound.
I turned 5 close to the end of '90.
I definitely like "Book of Endings" best off of Civilian, and I like the heavier rock sound of some of this earlier stuff you guys have been digging up. Thanks for uploading that, Lexi!
I can sorta hear some similarities musically between Book of Endings and the title track of MP.
Book of Endings is a little... poppier, I think.

I'm not an extreme fan of his earlier work mostly because I don't feel any real connection with the lyrics or music. It's hard for me to explain -- music tends to either emotionally "click" with me or fizzle. However, I definitely like the harder rock sound in general and think it fits his voice better.
I think "Book of Endings" is probably his best work overall. As Em said, it's poppy, but it's louder, more intense pop/rock sounding.
Sorry I wasn't clear - I was comparing Book of Ending to Thrill, rather than the Mute CD songs. The music has has some of that peppy feel to it, I think, but the lyrics are way, way better.
I like the Mute songs individually but as a group they're a little heavy. We should also remember that they're attributed to the group and not just Adam.
Oh! Yes, then I agree. :)
Mandi, I love it.
After the Chitty final show, we were waiting for Raul to come out (which he never did, grrr) and it was cold, so I started singing and dancing to Under the Sea and a variety of other Disney songs. It was fun
f*ck!--- my moms downstairs looking at my report card saying "why is there 11 absences in english".
I hate that they write the number of absences next to each class. It makes it oh so hard to cut class properly.

So I'm studying for my Orchestration test tomorrow...
Yeah...there's no way.
