re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part ten

I remember a while ago talk about him going to Bay Shore, but then didn't it get canceled or something? I really hope he is going there, it's very close to me; about a half hour away.

Was she engaged yet at that point?

No, she wasn't. I guess it's possible that they gave them to each other, but that seems extremely bizzare.

I'm hoping that some of us threadheads can catch Les Mis this fall together.

Oh, I would love that! Especially since I've never seen it.

Anyway, I'm happy for you NYers that Adam is planning some concert dates there. re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part ten

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part ten

I'm hoping that after one successful trip to NYC, my parents will be more willing to let me go again. I want to see Company. I have a reading break in October, but that will depend on school work and money I guess. But I really want to see Les Mis, just out of curiousity of why they would cast Daphne. I really can't see her as Fantine at all.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part ten

There was a thread about her casting when it was first announced, and someone posted that she'd done an incredible audition. She has her fans, but it's not as if she were a huge star, so I can't see why they'd cast her for any reason other than they think she'll do a great job.

I noticed the ring too, and I'm pretty sure he was wearing a ring on that finger during some of the Broadway performances.

I just found that I prefer her voice in faster songs like Out Tonight and Happy New Year vs. Without You and I Should Tell You. I personally don't enjoy her ballads.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part ten

There was a thread about her casting when it was first announced, and someone posted that she'd done an incredible audition.

Actually, if we're thinking about the same post (from Michael Bennett), he said that she must have given a brilliant audition in order to land the part, because she wouldn't have just been cast on a fluke. What you said and what the poster said are essentially the same thing, but I don't think the poster actually witnessed the audition.

Sarah, I agree that her voice is better-suited to faster-paced songs. However, I'm going to try to go to Les Mis with as much of an open mind as possible.

Chloe, I'm not trying to sound as if I'm overly pressing the subject or being plain weird, but have you ever heard of any other cases of couples giving rings to each other that aren't engagement/wedding rings? I've honestly never heard of that before in my life, but I was also wondering why they were both wearing rings on their left ring fingers.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part ten

I was confused about that post, so looked it up. You're right that it was Michael Bennett, and here's what he said: Rubin Vega apparently gave an extraordinary audition for Fantine.

Since I know he has a lot of show biz connections, I interpreted that to mean he had heard that she gave a great audition from someone, but it's equally plausible that he meant he was deducing what must have happened. It's a little Rorschach test for us, I guess.

I've heard of people exchanging rings as a token of their feelings rather than an engagement. Kids in high school used to do it all the time. I guess it's a kind of New Agey thing to do now, but something I could see Daphne as part of.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part ten

I could have sworn he made another post later in that thread (or another Les Mis-related thread) where he said that she "must have given" a great/extraordinary/insert adjective here audition (and then adding something like, "Again, people, you don't just get cast in Les Mis on a fluke"), leading me to believe that he was just going on the very logical assumption that she did indeed give a great audition, but I could be wrong. Either way, I'm sure her audtion was very good.

I can see it within the context of high school, but two 20-somethings doing it seems a bit strange. Then again, like you said, it seems a bit Daphne-ish. Who knows?

ETA: I just did a search as well, and it looks like I was imagining a second post. I probably remembered the post as I interpreted it rather than as it was written. Scratch what I said. re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part ten

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part ten

I just e-mailed the guys at R/J productions & asked them if the dates are definite. Hopefully I'll get an e-mail back. I'll report back here when/if I do. re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part ten

I didn't look any further, since I knew that was the post I was remembering. He could have said something else. There were several people who said something similar earlier.

Sarah, I know what you mean about the ballads. She can get a bit harsh at times, but I have a feeling that the charisma of a live performance can overcome it. I hope you make it back to NYC. Maybe you should think about mid-October, when Adam has those concert dates.

But when does Les Mis open? I haven't really checked into it yet.

You were pretty close Ashley re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part ten

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part ten

Hmm, my reading break is the last full week of October. If I can't make it for then, maybe a Christmas break trip. I guess I should probably work out one trip at a time. I've already seen Les Mis twice, so it's not as pressing to go see it again. Daphne is not really one of my favourite performers, and she was the only name in the cast I recognized.

My mom knows I'm going, she's just not ready to accept it, everytime I talk about it with her she says the whole thing is making her nauseous. It doesn't help that there was a lot of coverage on the two Montreal girls who were randomly stabbed in NYC. So I have to tell my dad all the details and once things are finalized talk to my mom.

I just really love the way Adam looks on the Charlie Rose Show (aside from the jacket). I was thinking of using this picture as my av, but it doesn't look nearly as good smaller.

My parents get really jittery about crimes like that, too. But, the thing with being here is that... those things happen to you if you don't use common sense. Like, don't go out at night alone. Don't go somewhere alone if you don't know your way around. Be aware of your surroundings. Stay in safe areas. Etc. You'll be fine if you just use your head.

I'm kind of reluctant to believe the dates; isn't that the disappearing website?

Hey girls! (guys?)

I just joined to say that I think you're all great to read as a group and as individuals.

Hm, the only reason I took an interest in Adam was because he played Rosario's leading guy in RENT (I just adore Rosario) the movie but that voice.... He just demands so much attention that I have to say, he intrigued me.

Also, I read some old posts and one of you is a Yankees fan. I'm a huge Yankees fan since I was born so here's to the Yanks!

Anyway, great thread.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part ten

Exactly Em. I don't see much difference really between Toronto (which I spent a lot of time in last summer,) and New York. And I'm visiting New Yorkers, who I'd assume know New York somewhat. Right?

Lexi, I totally forgot about Adam's concerts, even though Chloe just mentioned them. I got on a tangent about my mom. Once his dates are definite I'll definitely try to get down again, maybe if Cary comes back from vacation *coughdrugchargescough* we can squeeze him in too.

Hi She!

Also, I read some old posts and one of you is a Yankees fan. I'm a huge Yankees fan since I was born so here's to the Yanks!

That's me! I just let out a scream about a second ago when Mariano struck out the last batter. re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part ten

Please feel free to join in the thread! We always like hearing from new members, provided that they can type.

It amuses me that Cary has a song called "Chinese Jamaican Girl." It amuses me even more that it's still in my iTunes library. He also apparently has a song called "Border Guard," which I haven't listened to yet. I'd assume that it probably hits very close to home for him.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part ten

Chinese Jamaican Girl is my favourite Cary song. Border Guard is fun, because US customs is a bit of a b*tch. The train I'm taking has almost an hour stop at the border so they can search us.
