I don't like sports, but welcome!
.... what the hell kind of name for a song is THAT?
Welcome She!
Sarah, my family is the same way. I tell my dad about travel plans first, THEN tell my mom, because she freaks out- especially if I'm going to NYC. She made one trip *completely* miserable for me; she had me call her every few hours, but instead of letting me tell her about how much fun I was having, she kept interrupting me to lecture me about staying safe. I called her at 11:30pm (because she told me to) from the Village on a Saturday night- I'm in a f*cking Starbucks and the streets are full of people- and she started screaming at me about being out so late, since the I'm clearly going to be mugged, raped and murdered. In Starbucks. I'd rather her not know I'm in NYC at all than have to put up with that bullsh*t again.
Um, welcome She! Sorry for the rant.
Hee, I love Cary.
Cary's songs are pretty random, and I don't always get why they're titled what they are. I think that's part of the reason why I love him. I'm waiting for my box set and free "kick Cary's ass for stealing my money" coupon.

Yeah, well, I'm still waiting for the nude photos I requested.
Also, backing up a bit, I think I'd almost be disappointed if Adam were to wear properly fitting and not ugly clothes.

I'm just waiting for SOMETHING.
Thanks guys! *hearts*
Haha, Mo rocked saving this game. DJ needed a win on his bday. Plus, God bless the Giambino for such exciting homers.
Since I have nothing on topic to contribute I'll just say the pictures are all really good and that I'll comeback when I have something Adam to say.
Again, thanks for the welcome.
hee, it would be sad if you got those first Lexi.
Skittles, from what my dad was saying I think they're planning to do something the week I'm away. I know I'll have to call once I meet up with everyone and figure out if you're 20-something girls or middle aged men, since I won't reach Penn Station until 9:30 p.m. But hopefully I won't have to check in every hour.
Hi She, it's always fun to see a new face. I know that some of Adam's fans got to like Rosario from the movie as well.
Emcee, to go back a bit, yes that site did disappear for a few weeks, but the fact that it's been updated gives me a little more faith in it.

Well, we don't necessarily have to talk about just Adam. What did you think of Rosario's performance in the film? Do you think it was one of her best performances? I actually haven't seen any other films with Rosario, so Rent was my first and only exposure to her.
Chloe - I hoped that Rosario would be liked by the RENT/Adam fans but I'm happy to know it. It's a thrill to see her becoming an all around performer/actress and being liked for it.
siamese dream - Rosario has been in many small films I haven't seen but the ones I have, she's been really good. I'm amazed by the sheer diversity she has been able to conquer. She's played so many different kinds of people that I believe that she's a better actress for it. Her performance in "Shattered Glass", "Sin City", "25th Hour" and "Alexander" are awesome but "RENT" is right up there with all of those.
In RENT she was very agressive but Rosario is agressive often (like in "Alexander") so I liked to that side of her explored through music and dance. She did soooo amazingly well IMO, def one of her most eye catching performances.
I thought she had too much chemistry with Wilson/Angel so that's always funny to watch. If I were Roger, I would've been jealous!

Oooh, I forgot about Shattered Glass. I saw that movie, but don't remember too much about it other than Hayden's performance.
I don't know if you were necessarily implying this, but I do agree that the Rosario/Adam chemistry was a bit wan. I felt slightly different about Rosario's aggressiveness, though -- if anything, I don't know if she was aggressive enough in Rent.
It's probably impossible to say anything that applies to all Rent fans, who are often a pretty contentious group, but there seem to be quite a few who really like Rosario.
LuvtheEmcee got to meet her when she visited the set in NY and found her very friendly and fun.
I channelsurfed past Light It Up the other night and totally forgot she was in that. The first time I saw it, I had no idea who she was, so I didn't even relate it back to her.
Yeah. Hm... For some reason, I really really felt the Adam/Rosario chemistry was good, many times hot, but that somebody, maybe both, were holding back! It's just something I kind of sensed when they were "kissing". Somebody was def thinking, "let's keep this down". Maybe I'm dead wrong.
Chloe - Hahaha.. I noticed that. I'm a Buffy fan so when it gets ugly, it gets mad ugly but RENT fans go all out! lol I was surprised, maybe I'm surprised still. Yet in all honesty that's what keeps a fandom alive. And in this case, not only it is alive but it's intense! Wooohh.. Keeping that fire burning for 10 years is something.
I admire the RENT fandom a lot.
Hi, She! You've already been thooughly welcomed, but just echoing that. I sort of... pop in randomly? Heh
I didn't even make the connection that Rosario was in Alexander for the longest time. When I saw it in the theaters I rather liked it, but every time I've tried to watch since then, not even the Colin Farrell/Jared Leto factor can keep me interested. Rosario did well, though.
That's an interesting thought, She. Have you ever listened to the commentary track on the Rent DVD? If not, check out the end of I Should Tell You, in which Adam claims that he tried to give Rosario a little tongue, but she wouldn't go along with it. I'm not sure how seriously to take him about that, but it kind of reinforces your idea.
i've also never thought about how all the fighting might help keep a fandom going, but you may be right.

I'm not sure if you watched the movie with the commentary track, but Adam makes a (probably now-infamous) remark about how he tried to "slip Rosario some tongue" during I Should Tell You, but she "wouldn't oblige." I don't know how much of that was a joke, and it's probably been over-quoted by now, but I thought it was funny you brought it up.
I think the Rent fandom is so contentious because not only are they so passionate about their fandom, much of what they discuss is completely subjective.
ETA: Chloe, you're fast!

This is probably one of the few times I've gotten in first!
I have listened to the commentary but since I don't really know Adam, Anthony or Chris I didn't know how to take the jokes or even if they were jokes at all.
When I heard AP say that in the commentary I thought, "lol, funny" and I kept waiting for the, "nah, just kidding". Well, that didn't happen.
Still, their best scene together were the outtakes during "Finale B" and "SOL B". They seemed close in those. I still think they make a gorgeous movie and right now they're my fav movie pairing. But whenever I see the movie there's a little voice in the back of my head saying, "they're holding back".
Who knows! Maybe Rosario did held back on him so he just went as far as he felt he could go w/ her.

Someone posted their own mini-analysis of sorts of the kiss on LiveJournal at one point. It was kind of amusing, and I think her conclusion was that it looked like Rosario kind of prevented him from going all out. Heh. Who knows, though.
Hey She! Welcome My name is Angela.
I knew Rosario was in a few other movies , but I remember her the most in Josie and the Pussycats, weirdly. She was like Val the drummer. =P
I love the commentary on the Rent DVD. Adam, Anthony, & Chris make lots of jokes & keep it light. I also liked it how they pointed everything out & stuff. Good stuff.

I'm not too familiar with a lot of Rosario's work, but I adored her in the movie!
I loved the commentary..some nice quotes
Angela, I originally missed your post a couple pages back about contacting r/j productions. That's very enterprising of you and I hope they reply. It would be great to get a little more information, like what venues and when.
She, I think Adam tends to turn things into "stories" whose details are perhaps exagerrated, but probably represent some sort of reality, so it may very well be that for some reason Rosario was holding back, and that was his way of indicating it.
I'm glad that you enjoyed them as a pair, and I know a lot of other people feel that way too, to the extent of claiming they were having an affair during the movie. I don't believe that for a moment, but it shows that Adam and Rosario were pretty effective on screen as a couple.
