I was looking for Adam at Joe's Pub.
This is working for me, let me know how you do with it.

I think it's so awesome that Adam looks the farthest thing from a typical parent in that video all while talking about the war and his kids. Heh.

Thanks Chloe.
You're welcome, Alex. I wonder why it didn't work for you when you did the search.
Yeah, not the suburban dad look at all. Also another case where he looks better in the rehearsal, though the shots from the show itself mostly look pretty good. I was at that show. I'd only been a fan for about three months and only seen him live before in Aida, so it was pretty exciting. I hope he appears there again. They have a good sound system and it's an intimate, comfortable place.

I would have loved to have been there. Sounds (..and looks ) like it was awesome.
It was just weeks before he went to SF to start rehearsals for the Rent movie, too. That whole time was just so amazing.
I wish I would have known about Adam before the Rent movie. *sigh* oh well
I love that Joe's Pub video. Adam looks like such a non-traditional looking suburban dad.
My cousin saw Adam in Aida a couple of years ago. I was watching an video of the Rent cast on The View & she tells me that he looks familiar. Then she remembers she saw him in Aida! Lucky her. She's not really into Broadway though.
Haha. This place is so diff from my online "home", I don't know where anything is... Ha!
Hello!
You guys saying how far off AP is from the typical dad look reminds me of one of my musical icons...
He started joking in his last concert about how he's used to everything being so rock n roll, breaking all the rules, living fast, when he was young he changed his name, he wrote dark lyrics and used every drug he could get his hands on, he pushed all the envelopes etc, and now he finds himself telling his kids not to run around the house so they don't fall and scratch their knees, etc, etc.. LOL
He did name his first kid Revel Angel, though.
He says he feels like hypocrite telling his kids not to do stuff but that he'll do it until they're old enough to make mature choices or be pure forces of nature like he was. Ahhhh, I bet its the same thing for AP. It probably its both hilarious and cute.
Angela, I bet you wish you could have traded places with her. Did she like the show?

Dancing, you're not alone in your lack of Adam knowledge before the movie came out. I didn't even know of Rent until the movie.

Hi girlies. How's everyone tonight?
She, that is probably scarily accurate, although I think the days of Adam writing dark lyrics and dabbling in drugs (at least hard ones) are probably long over. He is probably the "okay, don't do this, although I did it when I was younger" type of dad, though. Quite the contrast from my parents!
This reminds me of how he introduces Apology; he says on all of those VH1 Behind the Music things, these people get all f*cked up... they're into drugs and things, and it ends up screwing up their entire lives, their kids, etc. He continues to say he never, ever wants to be that person on his own, or to screw up his family and all.
I wonder if he'll ever record Apology or Mesmerized. I would love to see all the lyrics to them. Have to post some Dad Adam:

I would love to see all the lyrics to them.
Heh. You still don't know how proud I am for figuring out that one lyric to Mesmerized!
And those poor kids look SO SCARED. I would be, too, if Martha started waving toys made out of crap in my face.
It wasn't crap, it was garbage.
Still, there's something a bit...cheap about giving a tissue box and rubberband guitar to the children of a musician. They probably have their own working kiddie-sized instruments at home, so it's just a waste.
Amy.
Maybe they were actually frightened by the sounds those things made.
I think Martha would be scary enough on her own without adding the drill and ribbons.

Haha. I guess Adam was like, "Okay, I'll try to not ruin this for my wife and play with this yellow... thing."
That is a really adorable picture.

I know that it's probably not something to be dwelled-upon, but Adam and Cybele really do have the most adorable children. They seemed surprisingly well-behaved on Martha, too, despite her insanity.

haha. Lexi
EDIT: They are truely adorable. I just have to let out an "awww"

Ashley -- what's your avatar? And, well, they wouldn't have taken them on the show if they didn't want to invite people discussing their overwhelming adorableness, right?
