I vote Sherie. Even though she already sings it, I love her.
Julia. She performed it in LA with JRB opposite her. A-ma-zing.

EDIT: Em beat me to it
Hee, Em. I was going to post that, but then I realized that I'm not very familiar with L5Y, so I don't know much about the vocal parts and whether it was feasible.
I knew someone would say her, lol. I think she would be good too.
hee, skittles, I just edited my post; Julia's done the show.

Really, Mel? You don't understand what's going on? I thought it was extremely straight-forward after you're familiar with the characters' different concepts of time. If you'd like me to explain it a bit, let me know.
I'm not sure who I'd want as Cathy other than Sherie.
Heh. Yeah, that's right, and really recently too. *is braindead* I dunno, I've only heard the CR once before, so I just knew I wasn't really familiar enough with it to really discuss it in the first place.
Oh gosh, Chloe, thank you so much for pointing out the "bawling"/"balling" mistake that so many people make! I've seen even people that are otherwise quite eloquent, well-spoken posters make that error, and it just seems so bizarre.
I could actually see Adam as Jamie in The Last Five Years... as others have said, he wouldn't be the first actor to pop into my head for the role, but I think he could pull it off. It wouldn't be a strech for him vocally, except perhaps stylistically.
Thanks for the offer SD, that's really nice of you, but it's okay. I've never actually sat down and listened to the whole cast recording. I just listen to it randomly.

As long as we're on spelling errors, it's curiosity. No "u."
I want to hear him sing Shiksa Goddess. And Nobody Needs to Know.
I think someone suggested Idina for that part once too. I'm really in the dark until I get the CD obviously. Oh that reminds me - have any of you seen this? I stumbled across it looking for the Rent wallpaper. I'm not sure whether that's what the sign originally said, or someone photoshopped the Adam message on there.
Yeah, I've seen it, but I have no idea if it's photoshopped or not.
I think that's photoshopped. She has a sharpie in her hand, so she probably wrote something else.
Ooh, and "If I Didn't Believe In You," which I think, contrary to what I see so often, is NOT a sweet song.

Also, I've seen that photo used with various phrases photoshopped onto the cardboard.

That picture has been photoshopped so many times. I've seen like five different versions of it.

I agree, Ashley, although I thought it was a sweet song the first time I heard it. I think the first few lines really set the mood for the entire song.

I recognize that font too..
heh, really? What are the other ones? That's the only one I've ever seen.

I don't remember any other versions specifically, but I think people have generally photoshopped phrases for their friends on it, like, "I love you, Jessica!"

Usually on like LJ and it usually says something to the effect of: "I Love (Insert Username here).
Where was the picture taken, anyway?
Yeah, it must be photoshopped. All the "A"s are exactly alike. When I first saw it, I thought maybe Idina had posed with a fan's sign.
ETA: I think it was on the set in SF.

Me too, Lexi, but I think it's ultimately a song about Jamie's complete inability to be anything but completely self-centered about their relationship. It's saying, "You will be fine becuase *I need* you to be," and very little about her. The part where it goes, "If I didn't believe in you, I couldn't have stood before all of our friends / And said 'This is the life I choose / This is the thing I can't bear to lose" part gets to me, but it's mainly sad because the relationship is in trouble due in large part to his selfishness/lack of empathy.
