I never interpreted "on your knees" er... that way in context, but when I heard it, the thought *did* cross my mind.
Putting her on her knees is simply a form of submission. Other than Adam being very hot, I never read anything sexual in that line in the show's context whatsoever.

It's not even so much the "on your knees" line as the overall vibe I got from the entire scene, especially the look that Radames gives Aida right before he takes her to his quarters -- I think his line is something like "I have a better plan for her," which to me implies something more than, "ooh, I'll get her to wash my back." He also gave her quite a menacing look while delivering that line. I also think that if my initial interpretation was correct, it shows that Radames's transformation was a lot deeper than if it wasn't correct. Then again, it's completely possible that I read far too much into it, and I'll be the first to admit that I could have initially misinterpreted it like mad.
Anyway, I'm kind of trying to make a coherent point of some sort, but I guess I never had anything more than a few thoughts in the first place, and I'm so drugged up right now anyway.

Hey Emcee, Lexi was asking about Deborah and Adam (I know you like that phrase) in Aida, and how their chemistry was. I was hoping you'd come on the thread and answer that question too.
Their chemistry was... okay. He sort of just... like, when they're laying down, making out after Elaborate Lives... he sort of cheaped out and just flopped down beside her. Not his best. It wasn't terrible, I guess, but he had done way better.
I think the beginning of their relationship is very much one of sexual dominance, but he quickly learns that she's not the sort who will stand for that, and comes to respect her for it.

That's strange, considering I think he said that Deborah and Heather were very similar in a lot of respects. Then again, he could have just been saying that to sound sweet, or like you said, he just got lazy.

I thought I mentioned that, but I probably didn't make it clear at all. I really shouldn't be posting while not completely sober.
I think he just got lazy-slash-bored.
It could also be that she had a problem with him actually lying on her for one reason or another - she'd had a baby fairly recently as I recall.

Haha. PRETTY SURE I ALREADY DID THAT. Cave into temptation!

Since I missed it earlier, very interesting thoughts about Radames...while I agree his intentions certianly were more than cleaning his back, I never fully thought through everything that meant (changed man business)...good stuff (I know, I contributed so much here...)
I want to do something *is antsy*

PS: I can't see Adam saying such specifically nice things about Deborah Cox to sound sweet. Maybe he would have avoided saying anything bad, but I don't think he would have compared her to Heather if he didn't like her.

I'm glad you found my drug-induced rants at least somewhat insightful. One more thing I thought of was when Aida tells him something to the extent of, "You don't seem like the type of man to go after any woman," Radames kind of laughs and nods without really aruging. While I don't think that line in itself implies that he was planning on forcing himself upon her earlier in the show, I think it speaks to his character before he learned to respect and fell in love with Aida -- he likely wasn't the type of man to respect women in general.
I just took another pill a few minutes ago and suddenly got really dizzy and drowsy. Goodnight, everyone.
I think I could tell you just took another pill. Have a good night -
And I really should get off now too. Sorry to abandon you, Amber, but I'm getting really tired. I'm glad you enjoyed our little discussion.
Good morning. Wow! Very insightful stuff from last night. I would have never thought of any of those things! (Well some thoughts like that crossed my mind, but never anything like what you guys said) I never look that deep into anything I'm reading.

Haha, Dancinqueen, were we being deep? I didn't exactly think of it that way.
I'm in so much pain, but my parents refuse to give me more Vicodin because it makes me loopy. I need my meds.
Well, you guys were "deep" compared to what I pull from readings. I'm not very good at finding hidden meanings or seeing foreshadowing or anything like that.
Speaking of hidden meanings, has anyone ever deciphered the writing on that great picture of Adam? I think there's only the one scan floating around, and it's not good enough to read anything. I think it's a British magazine, too, which would make it harder to come up with a copy now.

Um, I'm assuming she's referring to the one from a couple posts ago.
I think the first word is "sexy," but I can't read anything else. :P

Right, the Full Frontal picture. (The Brits can be so direct, can't they?) It's very frustrating to have it *almost* legible.
Oh lol sorry. I'm kind of slow..

Yeah, it's almost like it's teasing us.
If someone could figure out the date of the magazine (I think I remember reading that it's from a magazine named More), you might be able to find it on eBay for relatively cheap. I usually don't like to buy magazines for one article (I usually go to the library and photocopy them), but if it's fairly cheap, I'd probably snatch it up.
Wow, I'm really having problems typing.
ETA: Now that I think about it, it's probably from 1998 -- when Rent was on the West End. I suppose that doesn't help to narrow it down too much, though.

This one?
I looked up Adam Pascal and Adam Pascal+More on Ebay and couldnt find anything.

I have no idea if that's the magazine and I'm too drugged to try to figure anything out, but I'd assume that the issue with Adam in it wouldn't have "Adam Pascal" in the title or description of the eBay item. It would probably be listed with just the date and who is on the cover of the issue, although I suppose you never know.
