What should you be up to?
Work? I dunno...
Em, since our clocks don't change here (no daylight savings), right now it's 7:30 am. I've been up since 4, as usual .
I haven't seen the threads you're talking about, but the whole male-male kissing thing art2 has been psychotically ranting about makes me wonder... Perhaps there is a possibility the movie won't be shown where I'm living after all. That would be very sad.

I just figured out what Penguin's was! Sweeny cartoon from a bway yearbook with a little penguin sketched in.
8:30 and you're already at work?
I still don't know how you do that, amasis.
People are still trying to tell me I won't get scared out of my brain when I see Sweeney Todd.

Hope you're feeling better, amasis!
Nia - nothing, just general suckosity.

Poor Ellie. Do you need a kiss?
amasis, I've heard of morning people, but that you LIKE to get up at four still astounds me.
I just hope I'm not disappointed, I love the score LOTS. You may be scared Em, I hope I am!
That is totally too early to work Amasis.
Where are you that they wouldn't play the movie?
ugh Art's rants, although I must say I enjoyed conversing with Kringas.
Nia, yay I have several of these Hirschfelds and love them. Of course I must keep Fuzzels in there too.
I was going to ask you why Hirschfeld drew a penguin; then I realized he didn't!

When I saw Sweeney, it was more disturbing than 'scary'. Although who knows how it is with the current production.
That whistle sound always scares the crap out of me, though.
Penguin - I'm in Southeast Asia right now.
Nia, I just want it dark when I'm awake, that's all. It's VERY important. If it's already light when I'm up, my day is practically ruined.

Well, maybe not so much scary as just... creepy. Things-that-go-bump-in-the-night creepy.
I keep hearing about this whistle sound. It must be horrid.

I want the Sweeney recording very badly, but since the remaster will be out on 9/27 I figured I'd just wait.

The new one probably won't have a full orchestra, for what it's worth. Might be better to stick with the original.

??
What do you mean by not having a full orchestra?
Going to go for a bit. My eyes need a rest from looking at things close up.
Nia, that's what I'm doing with Sunday in the Park with George. (and my "official" into the woods)
If they get pushed back again though arghh
The whistle sound is awful, there is no doubt about it, and really scary.
Southeast Asia is very far, and a bit strange in my head.
I like it to dark when I'm awake too, at the end. I hate waking before the sun comes up.

I think there's only seven instruments or something, some played by the actors onstage! Or is that not true?
I'm off also - my eyes need a rest too. Toodles!
nia, they aren't having an actual orchestra, it sounds like. The actors are going to be playing the instruments, which also means a much smaller orchestral ensemble. I don't know if the official decision has been made, but that's the way the most recent London production is/was, and that's what this revival will be based on.
Penguin, I think I might watch Sunday... later. I've never seen it before.
I've not seen it either, although it is next on my Netflix delivery.
Does the revival cast recording have a release date already?
As far as I can tell the production is still using the 7-9 piece orchestra, although they could add more on the recording like they did on Spelling Bee.
Don't you mean "where IN southeast asia?" Marlene?
Bee's orchestra is TINY. It's like a piano, a guitar and percussion.
I guess I'll go, too. I don't really feel that well.
I guess I make everyone sick and tired, oh well I have LOTS of work to do tonight anyway.
Southeast Asia is very far, and a bit strange in my head.
It is far. I miss the times when I was able to see Broadway shows so easily. Just thinking of all I've missed this year alone makes me depressed. Hmph.

No, no. It's not you, Penguin.
Just... a lot of stuff. My stomach is just in a big, ugly knot. I'm gonna go shower. I'm sort of in a self-loathing kind of place right now, and I've been dreading tomorrow all summer long.

*hugs Emcee* Be happy, my dear! You'll be okay.
Eventually. Several social situations have recently come crashing down on me, and I've said entirely too many goodbyes in the past week. After a while that, combined with my mother giving me hell, and my own just not being ready and able to handle a whole bunch of things has finally worn on me.
