I think Emcee has a special powder(or power) that makes pretty Broadway stars like her. She throws it in their faces when they're not looking.
I need to get some of that...
I think it's The Fear. Like, maybe they feel bad that I'm obviously petrified. It's always hard to read whether they actually like talking to you, or if they're just being nice. Like, in my mind a lot of times, there's still this feeling of "I'm bugging them. I know I'm buggin them. Oh, he's just being friendly..."
I know what you mean. I HATE bothering people and I hate feeling like a nuisance.
niusence? nuisence? newsense? :-P I can't spell sometimes.
Nuisance. You were right the first time .
And, I definitely share that feeling. I always feel like I'm bothering them, even though there are a whole bunch of other people doing the same thing and chatting with them.
haha. I have no idea how to spell it, either!
Sometimes I feel like they look at me like "okay, kid, TALK!"
Sometimes I feel like they look at me like "okay, kid, TALK!"
Haha, me too! And then I try to talk, and it doesn't work.
I always end up saying something like, "You're so amazing." or "Great job!" Which, you know, is *so* original and inspired.

This may be an insult, but isn't meant to be...
Em is like the littly tiny dog that ALWAYS approaches the big dog (Adam) then runs away scared. Every single time the little pup sees the big one, the little one approaches then freaks.
Though, usually, the big one would say "enough's enough" and eat the little one. But not in this case, I hope.

Oh, I hope Adam doesn't eat Emcee! I don't think I could love Adam as much if he were a cannibal.
Plus, then I wouldn't get to hear Em's recording and bask in the glory of Adam being amazingly hilarious.

I think it'd be funny. I've never seen someone eat someone else.
Ha good analogy BSo but lately the little puppy has been sticking around quite a bit more.
In terms of "bugging," them I'm beginning to go on instinct and situations and also knowledge of the person. I still would never bother anyone in a convo or on the phone or eating, but then again I read a story where someone stopped John Tartaglia on the phone and he screamed OMG I gotta go I was just recognized I can't believe it lol.
If it's after some kind of performance or event they were involved w/ I pretty much don't feel I'm bugging them as them exiting wherever they do they should realize they're going to interact w/ fans and not mind, but I try not to take up too much time unless they're one of the few like Anthony who talks as much as I do.
In other situations, I leave it to instinct. I usually can't act fast if I see someone on the street, can't think of anything to say. But like me and a friend stopped Greg Jbara and he talked to us for like 15 min and now I know him well and talk to him a lot, this was from hearing how nice he was. Same w/ Anthony I was shaking but had the guts to approach him before the Kitchen Sink and he couldn't be sweeter. Once I saw Cheyenne and his dog in Central Park and I couldn't figure out if he'd be happier being left alone or appreciate a brief compliment, so finally I chose the neutral option to play w/ his dog.
I guess a good rule a thumb is if you can overcome fear, a brief sentence is prob never unwelcome. Something like sorry to bother you but I want you to know how much I appreciate your work. That gives them the option of responding they could politely smile and say thanks and then you walk away or perhaps engage in conversation with you.
Em and attracting bway actors...hmm...I always used to think especially b/c of my shortness I have a "cute" look to me, like at stage doors I'd be smiling and actors would say hi to me before I say anything, maybe we look short and a little cute and they just...come to us? (Em more than me obviously, she looks a little scared, I just ramble and act a tad crazy..)

"But like me and a friend stopped Greg Jbara"
That's...it?
"I saw Cheyenne in his dog"
Must have been a BIG dog.
"so finally I chose the neutral option to play w/ his dog"
I am more protective of my dog than of myself
"b/c of my shortness I have a "cute" look to me"
Nope, at the stage door no one is cute. Except a baby who can't think for itself. Actors will take pity on the poor child. Otherwise y'all a bunch of screaming vultures. (Except Em when she has a panic attack )

Hey, you know I do not scream. I am very particular about that.
Oopsy on the "in his dog"...makes me very happy you didn't catch some interesting typos I made last night that I was able to correct...
I meant "neutral" b/c I didn't acknowledge that I knew he was ya know a bway star, actually I was sitting on a bench and his dog tried to run to me so I was just like "aww, can I play w/ him?" Though he now def knows I know who he is, he remembered me from that so now always says hi, but still I felt much less bothersome in the root I took.
And shy little kids are cute.

I can totally picture him doing that.
haha, me too!
BSo, I need to tell you how hard your analogy made me laugh!
awww, yay for John Tartaglia. He's the best!
I love Adam...and John!
I send my love to all broadway men<3
I noticed last night that Adam's stopped wearing earrings. I'm sad about that. They look good on him.
*sigh* RENT is ever better the second time around!
I need to see it agaaaain....
Me toooo! Not that once wasn't just perfect, but I need more!
A second time is definately necessary.
Absolutely! But a second time has to come first.
