Wonderful, guys. I'm just about on my way to the grocery store, and we're talking about chips! Ugh. I'm not going to buy them, I'm not going to buy them, I'm NOT going to buy them...
I have a bag of those yummy Soy Crisps on my desk. BBQ flavor. mmmm.
Niaaaaaaaa!!! Hi!
Congrats, Atrias! You too, BSO!!

Oo Em I love BBQ soy crisps.. Yummy..
I was beginning to think Nia fell off the planet.. I dont ever even see her on aim anymore..
I'm not much of a chip girl otherwise, but I've been known to polish off an entire bag of plain Baked Lay's in one sitting. Yum.

I opted for a bag of Hint of Lime Tostitos, YUM.
I went down one aisle to get a box of couscous, and there was this really hot guy standing there, looking at all the different varieties. I excused myself and reached in for the kind I always get. As I turned to walk away, he was like, "Um, actually, can I ask you a question about that? Is that the regular kind?" I was like, "Yup, it's just plain couscous." "My friend told me to get some, but there are so many different kinds!" I was like, "Well, this is just plain, and it only takes 3 minutes to cook in the microwave!" He thanked me and grabbed two boxes. Then, a few minutes later, he almost ran into me with his cart! Are we meant to be? I think we are.
Chloe - it's walnut dressing night!!
Allie, he's your soul mate.
I wish *I* ran into hot guys in the supermarket.
... and that I didn't look like a slob when I went to it.
Let me know how you like it, Allie.
Maybe you should shop at that store more often. Show up at the same time next week and see if he's there too.
I made really good couscous yesterday.
Nice Allie.. definately hope you run into him again..
Is it strange that I have never had couscous??
I've never had it either, cam.

How do you make yours, Em? I can eat it by the bowlful, with lots of butter, and salt and pepper. Yum.
Oh, I'm definitely going back next Monday night! He had such a great smile!

Thanks for the welcome. I didn't know if this was a thread originated by a few people that wanted it to stay that way or if it were more of an open situation. You may call me Audrey. :)
And thanks for the quick replies. I've barely seen anything about him at all, but I guess he hasn't struck me as an introvert (although it's certainly possible). Nevertheless, I personally don't care much about stagedoor apperances in general anyway. To be honest, if I were on Broadway, I'd tire of signing tons of programs at every performance, too. Do actors owe it to the fans who *do* care about it? Kind of, maybe, not really sure. It's definitely not an issue with me, though. I'd rather see someone fail to appear than appear and seem in a huge hurry to sign autographs and not crack a smile (::cough:: Idina ::cough::).
Anyone else happier with the Rent movie soundtrack than the OBC? I feel like I'm the only one, but I can't listen to the OBC anymore. Sue me, I like the overproduced-ness. I still think Daphne made a better Mimi, but Tracie's voice sounds much nicer than Fredi's voice. Anthony and Adam sound much better, too. (Sorry, I'm sure this has been discussed various times on this thread already! Feel free to disregard.)
Ok good, so I'm not alone here..
Audrey you aren't the only one who didn't care for the OBCR.. They didn't even particularly care for it..
Adam's always struck me as being very personable, but as time has gone by, I can see better how he might in some ways be considered a bit of an introvert.
I don't think I've heard more than one or two scattered stories of him being less-than sweet at a stage door; I usually tell people that he's nice until you piss him off. So, yeah, if provoked, he'll bitch you out, but you have to be *really* annoying to warrant anything but a smile.
I certainly haven't ever felt like he owed anything to me, which is why the way he's been *so* friendly lately is kind of jarring. Like, after I figured out who he was and started to really love him and his work, sure, I'd go and see him when I could. Now I'm in the city, and make a point to go support him as often as I can. And other than seeing him on stage and having him be mildly friendly if I wanted a photo or something after a performance, I didn't ever expect anything in return. So to suddenly have a very obvious display of appreciation for my support? It's weird. But very, very cool.
I like the orchestratations a lot better on the soundtrack. I listen to the soundtrack more often now than I do the original CD, but I don't know if that's because I truly like it better or simply for the novelty. They each have their strengths, as we all well know.
Allie, I follow the directions on the box: boil water, margarine/butter and seasoning, then add the coucous and simmer.
There are certain things I like about the OBCR, and certain things I lik ebetter on the film soundtrack. It's hard to pick which one I like better, actually. Lately I listen to the film soundtrack more.
Surprisingly I haven't been listening to either lately..
Em I wonder if he remembers the utensil adventure...
I haven't stopped listening to it since I saw the movie. To finally be able to put images to the songs makes it that much better.

Yeah, it could very well be for the novelty, too. I'll probably be back to listening to the OBC in a few days, but it's nice to hear Adam's voice toned down a bit. My friend (who loves everything Broadway) says its due to his smoking, which it very well could be, but I think it's just due to him handling the character better. Hmm.
Hi Undi!! She might be avoiding that little time bomb..
There's a lot that's mysterious about whatever is going on with him lately. Either he got that it was a joke, or he just forgot about it. We're also unsure as to just how much he knows. Like, he knew my name for about the snap of a finger, but we don't think he remembers it. The theory of Adam and Emcee, I'll call it. Whatever. If this is as warm as he gets, I'll so take it.
I'm not sure if he's quit smoking, if he's smoking *again* or smoking *still*. But I don't think that's to blame entirely for the changes in his voice. People always forget that when he did Rent on Broadway, he was coming off of doing *maybe* one gig a month with his band. Having to sing a rock opera score eight times a week blew his voice to sh*t. His voice has matured AND he's a better actor now, which is what I think most of the changes from OBCR to soundtrack are from.
I love Near East's Roasted Garlic & Olive Oil couscous. Sometimes I'll even add in some tofu if I'm really hungry.
As for the movie soundtrack vs. OBCR, I find that I generally prefer the movie soundtrack recordings in terms of the vocals and the production, but the OBCR has so much that's missing from the movie soundtrack that I can't really choose between the two, and I can't help but wonder if my opinion is colored somewhat by being introduced to both recordings around the same time (I'm another relatively new fan). I wish that more songs had been recorded for the movie soundtrack, even if they weren't going to be used in the movie.
