"Smoking in the halls- high school must've been very different in the eighties."
LOL, it's not so much the decade as the school that makes the difference. I'm still shocked by some of the stuff that went on at my middle school.
"When people talk about the Rent movie, someone always says 'Roger is hot!' and someone else usually goes 'I love his voice'.
Sorta wish they'd love his acting or care enough to perpetuate his fanbase, but you know. Take what you can get."
I guess it's just easier for people to appreciate the looks or the voice, since those are things that can be enjoyed without using anything but the senses. In order to appreciate the acting, someone has to think, and let's face it, many people are too lazy to do that.
Ugh, so apparently the "wet hair + cold weather = catching a cold" thing isn't just some silly old wives' tale my mother likes to annoy me with. I'm sneezing my face off now, and that wasn't happening earlier today. This is just what I need a week before finals
Also his performance wasn't particularly showy. It was quiet and natural.

Does anyone have this oft-talked about photo of him smoking on the set? Now I'm curious! Heh. I really don't care about him smoking in and of itself, but I wouldn't want him to ruin his voice.

That's what I think, too. I think a lot of people expected him to be a lot more angry and in-your-face, like some Rogers are onstage, or like he sounded on the OBCR.

i couldn't find the smoking in the halls reference, but here's something sort of encouraging:
I loved this movie so much. I even mooed during that one scene. I'd never even heard the broadway cast recording, but i really loved this movie. I can't wait for the dvd. Adam Pascal has such a nice voice! Taye Diggs has a nice voice too. I never even knew he could sing... Well, I'm off, but I want you all to know, I'll be going to see this again. I guess you could consider me a "Renthead" now!
but at that point in the movie isn't he smoking? maybe it wasn't in between takes. If I remember correctly, Roger passes to Collins who passes to Mimi before they go in...something like that
He was smoking in Santa Fe too. *shrug* No idea.

That's a really nice photo, but it's not the one I saw before. The other one was definetly amature.

Oh, I see it now! How on earth did I miss that??? So cute!
Yeah, he is smoking in that scene during the movie. I was there that night!

This is the entire "smoking in the halls" post from IMDB:
Yeah he smokes...he went to my hs and all he did was smoke in the halls
... that's all.
So of course since he did it in high school, he still does.

The person probably just doesn't like him.
and of course, anyone could say he went to their hs. doesn't mean they're not lying.

Oh Adam, you slacker.
I imagine him as one of those kids who thought "I am NEVER going to be boring and have a steady job, a wife, two kids and a dog!"

Well, maybe, but I thought the poster was just trying to be informative. I mean, the thread is titled "Does Adam smoke?", so the person probably just contributed whatever knowledge he/she had on the subject. Who knows, of course, though.
You're probably right. One of those kids who wants to be a badass rock star 'til he's way too old to be doing so.
Not that he's boring, even though he has the wife, the two kids and the dog.

Silly little Adam.
I'm being kicked offline, so goodnight. *wave*
He had a MULLET in high school.
Silly doesn't even touch it.
