what time is it?
It's not until one.
thats good. I feel so bad for people who have finals from 7-10. I could never do well taking a test that late.
Oh no...why did DAME bump that thread??? grrr...
Oh, wow. Yeah, I saw that time frame, and pitied those people. I get really tired around 7, for some reason. Then I wake up around 9:30.
Because he thinks he's funny.
*snorfle!* Thanks for the laugh Atrias. I'm still in hysterics.
I'm staying away from that thread. I don't need more annoyance in my life.
On a good note, I saw the movie for the fourth time today with someone very close to me, who's also a professional film editor. He was unfamiliar with the show. He was really, really moved, felt the story was put together well, understood everything, and has been humming SOL off and on ever since.
So there. ::sticks out tongue::
yea...well that's not cool.
Are you going to midnight breakfast?
Probably not, but I'll think about it. My roommate might want to, so I'll tag along.
I'm supposed to see it for the last time this weekend, but... the strike...
There's a Rent strike?!
I really hope the strike doesn't happen. I have to go into the city several times in the next few days.
What's midnight breakfast?
ETA: No, but there might be a transit strike, Elphie.

I never refuse free food
and let's all cross our fingers for friday
Elphie, not a RENT strike. The MTA strike here in nyc.
Chloe, before finals, our school has this thing where they serve breakfast in the middle of the night for fun.

Chloe, in your professional opinion, is it 'too late' for this film to achieve commercial success? I see it becoming a cult musical gem, but I don't know that it will ever be widely known and loved.
Does any college student ever refuse free food? Seriously, I went to some cheesy winter dance party tonight just because they were serving free dinner.
Ugh, this transit strike better not happen. I'm supposed to go home to Queens this weekend for a family get-together, and I pretty much rely on the subway to do that.
It's probably not food I can eat, so I'll probably just stay here and eat chips.

Oooh, free food... *mouth waters*
I'm thirsty. Maybe I'll just go for the free beverages.
Ohhhh! An MTA strike! Okay, phew! I hope it works out for you guys.
I could use some coffee right about now. But then I won't be able to go to sleep. meh.
Hi Nia. I think it probably is too late for commercial success, but there's a big difference in my mind between a film that did lackluster business because no one really cared about it, and one with a small but devoted audience. Obviously RENT falls in the second category.
It's unique, and I can see it someday becoming a beloved perennial favorite like (ironically enough) It's a Wonderful Life, which also didn't do very well in its theatrical release.
When I told my friend about the strange love/hate response to the movie today, he said he could easily believe that anyone not wanting to deal with their emotional issues or feel too much would hate it. That may account for some of the more vicious reactions.

Interesting thoughts, Chloe.
Where did this 'urgle' come from?
