I believe so!
He's got a beautiful voice.
*frets* Well, if you say so, Em. But he'd better not screw it up!
*pat pat*
Don't fret! I don't know much about Lestat, but vocally - gaaaah. He has one of those voices that'll put you in a trance.
I just...Lestat is one of my favorite fictional characters ever. I'm sure that Hugh is up to the task, but I'm going to keep worrying until the first reviews come out. You guys know what I'm talking about, it's pretty much the same deal with the RENT movie.
I know exactly how you feel - I was on tenterhooks for the Billy Elliot reviews too.
agh, that's not a fun feeling. When Chitty opened, I stayed up all night waiting and waiting for the Times review. I guess the RENT movie will be much like that, even though now I say I won't read the reviews at all!
Yeah, I don't know if I'll read the reviews in my paper. The critics for the Washington Post think they're above everything and everyone else. I forgot, did Chitty get a good review from the Times?
Hmm, now that you mention it, I'm not sure I want to read them either, at least at first. I want to see the movie with no preconceptions other than the ones already foisted on me by annoying trailer critics. Updated On: 8/26/05 at 02:26 PM
It was better than expected, I think - though most of them, aside from John Simon's, were fairly predictable. Brantley likes Raúl, though... for the most part.
I definitely won't read the reviews from my local paper - our critics are just delusional. Our theatre critic gave Brooklyn a rave, for example, and hates anything remotely intelligible. But I'll probably break down and read some!
ETA - if I do, it'll be after I see the film as well, Chloe.
Hey Em, do we have the same theatre critic?
Journal News?
Ours smashed DRS and raved about BKLYN.

Emcee, that's madness. What did he think of some of the other shows that opened this season?
Our local 'critic' said that the Phantom tour was very moving and made a few generic comments about the show and the production, some of which were incorrect. It's NOT the longest running musical of all time.
Yeah, Nard. It's a different paper where I'm from, but the same guy.
He was the guy who hated hated HATED The Normal Heart, and acted like he was basically allergic to Raul. He acts like he's allergic to anything serious, but I'm drawing a blank as to the big one that generated the trouble this season.
How could anyone be allergic to Raul? He's so viewer-friendly!
This is a man who gave Brooklyn a rave, Atrias. Go figure!

Is this online? I haven't banged my head into enough walls today.
Thenardier, it'll be the longest on BROADWAY in January, but it still has a couple decades to go before topping The Fantasticks.
I can't seem to spell today. I've just been trotting around the board repairing posts. (sigh) I really just want to stay online chatting, but I'm very behind at work. (Big sigh) See you all later.
It might be... I'll look around, nia. It was... well, it made me gag.

I'd feel bad for you if I didn't know what you did at work, Chloe.
What did he say about the Normal Heart? "shows should be light and bouncy"?
They don't appear to have their reviews online, nia.
