I like that they used Finale B too.. I dont want them to over use SoL and it's getting dangerously close..
Nard.. huh??
Ok.. I thought you were refering to me, but I wasn't sure.. Aww I have a yiddish kick name.. How are you today hun?
Hi, all.
There's a link to the trailer on the blog, I think. It was weird to finally hear dialogue.
Nard, do you actually speak fluent Yiddish?
Nope!
I understand most of it when spoken to me...but I can't speak it.
I'm good cam, gotta get ready for la universidad.
You?
Nope, just a few words here and there.
"Cameleh" almost sounds like a legit term - cam, what do you think?
Hi all (or should I say oy gevalt?) Just ran in to defend Elton from people on the main board saying that if he wrote Lestat it must be a bomb. Huh? He's written exactly three musicals and all of them have been big hits.
I'm really looking forward to Lestat, because of the Elton John factor and because of the cast. Hopefully it won't fall under the curse of late that plagues the vampire musicals!
I happen to really enjoy Aida thank you very much.. I'm going to be working on Beauty.. **shows some Elton love**
actually Em it does sound legit.. and it's cool with me..
hehe yeah like Camelot..
Wow, people are here now. I just finished with my daily "All My Children" fix, so I'm ready for some serious computer time.
I'm looking forward to Lestat as well. I've been in love with the books since I was thirteen.
The string of bad vampire shows was just a coincidence, if you ask me. (But who did? That's a funny phrase when you think about it.) Also I've read various things to indicate that Dance of the Vampires was not bad in its German incarnation, but wasn't translated well to Broadway. Updated On: 8/26/05 at 01:51 PM
One last comment before I actually have to do work
*waves*
Even being the huge theatre snob here, I enjoy John's work. I think Lestat has a good chance to be both very good and very popular. I've never read Rice's books but they come highly recommended.
I can honestly say that I'm more nervous for Lestat than I've been for any other musical. If Elton murders it, I might have to murder him.
I've never read the books, but they usually do get high recommendation. Maybe I'll check them out.
Elton didn't write BATB, cam, but have fun with it anyway!
Do, Em. They're so much fun! The movies don't do them justice, if you've seen them.
Didn't even know there were movies! Out of the looop.
They made a movie of the first one with Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise( as Lestat), Antonio Banderas, and Kirstin Dunst. I wanted to rip my hair out.
Well Atrias, Anne Rice herself seems upbeat about it. If you didn't read the article about the Lestat cast, here's a paragraph about her:
“This musical is the fulfillment of my deepest dreams,” said author Anne Rice. “Elton's music and Bernie's lyrics have captured the pain and the passion of the characters perfectly, and the entire adaptation has re-created the very essence of the books. Working with the whole team -- Rob Roth, Linda Woolverton, and of course Elton and Bernie -- has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my entire career. The talent, the brilliance, and the generosity of these folks is beyond belief. I'm humbled; I'm grateful; and I'm so excited that I can hardly stand it. Lestat, Louis and Claudia are about to be reborn.”
Well, Tom Cruise can kill pretty much anything!
So, I was just told that my school is rated #3 top party school in the counrty.
Who knew?
I didn't.
I don't get Tom Cruise's appeal at all. He just seems like an overgrown frat boy to me.
He used to be pretty, but I don't even think that of him anymore. He frightens me.
I am, however, a huge fan of Minority Report.
I read that but...Hugh Parano is so OLD! Like, twenty years too old! I've got my fingers crossed.
And yes, Tom Cruise can kill just about anything. I never liked that man, even before his various rants about PPD
I think he's near forty... but he doesn't really look it! He deserves this, hugely talented guy (Hugh).
