Aw, poor Emcee. Paper cutters can be fun if you're careful!
I'm sorry to change the subject, but I'm reading The Hours at the moment... have any of you read it? I really like it. Anyway, I read this part, and was like, "Whoa, deja vu to Angels in America."
Still, she loves the world for being rude and indestructible, and she knows other people must love it too, poor as well as rich, though no one speaks specifically of the reasons. Why else do we struggle to go on living, no matter how compromised, no matter how harmed? Even if we’re further gone than Richard; even if we’re fleshless, blazing with lesions, sh*tting in the sheets; still, we want desperately to live.
Those paper cutter things are very exciting, but scary as well.
Once a few years ago, my sister was waving a knife around, and me, being the brilliant person that I am, grabbed it out of her hand with my hand by the blade. I got cut by a butter knife, and let me tell you, even though it hardly bled, it hurt!
Ouch, poor Elphie.
I haven't read The Hours, Allie, but I did see the movie.

One time at a pizza place, as we were waiting for our food, one of the guys was cutting a pizza with a round, really sharp knife, and he cut the very tip of his finger off. It was only like, an eighth of an inch, but it was so gross/scary. *shudders*
I think if I lived alone I would never make my bed, but my roommate is far neater than I. And, I feel bad being totally messy if like, she has friends over or somethign.
"Why make it? I'm just gonna get up, go to work and come back to home and bed :) "
Heh, I tried that with my mom when I was younger and she didn't exactly like it too much. I think the only reason I make my bed now is because I'm afraid that if I don't, my comforter will fall on the floor while I'm not home (I tend to toss and turn in my sleep a lot and pull my comforter pretty far out from its tucked-in position).
I've been afraid of staplers ever since I accidentally stapled my finger when I was in elementary school. At my summer job, I occasionally have to use this humongous stapler designed for really thick stacks of paper, and it scares me.

These injury stories are making me queasy, you guys!
What did you think of the movie, Snowbird? I actually think parts of the story worked better on film than in print.
Everyone has to watch this

You know what I can't stand? People who stick safety pins through their skin during math class when I am TRYING TO CONCETRATE!! I mean, really.

I really can't stand Mandy Moore in that video.
Elphie, the safety pin thing is so... seventh grade? Heh.
I watched it when it first came out, so I don't remember much. Nicole Kidman's storyline was a bit slow for me, but I did enjoy Meryl Streep's and Julianne Moore's.
Ew, I knew a guy who had them through his eyebrow.
