I'm...too busy. Especially for summer.
*waves*
Diva's better than I at this, then - I COMPLETELY forgot. Maybe that's a good thing, yeah? I can't believe that much time has gone by... especially since that was also the week I started college.
I'm too busy also, for any time of the year. I just listened to some of Aida a couple of days ago and was struck all over again by how beautiful it is.
Maybe I'll whip it out this afternoon.
An appropriate pre-Tony thing to do, maybe? Or maybe not, considering. :-P
A couple of people have suggested the RENT trailer might be played during the Tony broadcast, which makes sense. By the way, I completely broke down and watched the higher quality online version when it appeared - GREAT trailer! Still haven't made it to a theater to see it though.
Really? I saw some random "wouldn't it be nice if..." comments about showing it, but I'd love if it were shown.
Now that I've seen it online and had some time to deal with it on a pretty personal level, I think I'll regret not seeing it on the big screen. So, maybe soon.
Right, the "wouldn't it be nice" comments were what I meant - sorry if I was misleading. But from a marketing point of view I can really see it, unless those spots are really expensive.

It makes sense, though, to show the trailer tonight, since it's safe to assume that a large chunk of the audience would see it in theaters.
I think it would be a good idea - I wonder if it's too early to start putting the trailer on TV, though. I'll probably go a little nuts if it's on TV.

As much as I'd love to see it on TV, I won't be heartbroken if it's not; I'll just play it at breaks, anyway.
Me too - I have no time to watch TV right now, and I'd probably start obsessing about getting it on tape. I'm not sure what goes into determining these things - partly budget, of course - but the Narnia trailer was shown on TV a few weeks ago, and it's coming out around the same time.
Isn't it great how much Adam was featured? The studio must think he can help sell the movie even as a relative unknown.
Hey Snaps - and NTG, come back, we hardly ever get to hear from you anymore!

I'm here, Chloe. No worries!
I tape the Tonys every year anyway, so that'll be an added bonus, if I can catch the trailer on tape. I mean, I'm sure it'll be included on the DVD when the time comes, but it would be nice to have in a non-computer format.
On a non-serious note, I was highly amused that about half that trailer is Adam kissing somebody.
On a serious note - I think I posted this in the blog entry in which I put my exact initial thoughts on the trailer - I love how much he's in it, but I think the fact that the trailer *starts* with Adam was a really important stepping-stone for me, and my hate-turned-love relationship with this movie. I remember hearing that he was the first person shown, and I just went "well, now that's special." In a weird, twisted, overly sappy and sentimental way, it sort of stands for how far I've come in accepting this whole thing. It made me really warm and fuzzy.

Heh. Emcee, I hear you on the Adam kissing thing. I showed it to a friend, and the first thing she said was, "Wow. There's a lot of kissing in this thing, but they're hot, so it's okay."
Yes you are, Snaps, and I'm very glad of it! But I was talking to NOtThatGirl, who used to have time to post a lot more.
And can I comment on how excited I am that it's not his wimp-out stage kiss, either? There's visible chemistry there! *snaps for Adam*
I will then proceed to pass out in the theatre. Thanks.

Aw, do I feel dumb. -Slinks with the tail between the legs-
No, no, don't slink off! It was an understandable mistake, caused by me (in my current overworked condition) addressing two different people practically at once.
Yeah, all the kissing... that's another good reason to get it on video.

Well... Okay. I'm easy.
I've got to say, though, that I think the award for best kiss in the trailer goes to Tracie and Idina, because of the look on Anthony's face.
It took me a minute to catch him in the background there, but that's priceless.

Why can't I stop watching this?
My copy is at work (on my very fast work computer with Quicktime Pro), so I can't watch it over and over - perhaps a good thing?
I think I'm going to have to switch over to a movie av, but before I do, take a look at Emcee's and my current ones - Adam's nine year RENT journey. Also, I wanted to honor Daphne, who somehow got my loyalty although I've never even seen her live.
(And he looks almost the same.)
