Totally agree - but I guess it's not for everyone.
I didn't realize it until I got there, but the play I saw tonight was right next door to NYTW. I passed it just as I was getting to the place I had to be at, and stopped dead in my tracks, literally. I looked up at the sign for a second, then peered through the door. I had never seen it before, and I... I... well, maybe I don't really have to explain. It was special.
To add to that, though, the play had a small RENT reference, and a scene about being sad you're turning thirty. I listened to TTB on the way home... had to, I guess.
Hey Emcee - what play did you see and what was the RENT reference?
Sorry to butt in here, but I was just skimming over the topics on the first page...I just had to say damn you ladies move fast!!! 600+ posts in a couple days! Yeowzah! Quite impressive!
Sorry for the randomness...Go Adam! Love Model Prisoner. Wine and Vision=thorougly amusing!...Anyway, I'll leave you to it. *waves*
It's called "Golden Age" and I'm going to post about it tomorrow since I've got to do this paper tonight, but it's based on the Archie Comics. They all move to NYC and the main guy says he and his friends all live in an apartment in Alphabet City. "It's like RENT! But... we don't sing."
Hi Mabel! I think I once googled a long-ago post you made on BWW about Wine and Vision. Yes, the new thread has kind of exploded.
That sounds like fun, Emcee - at least I hope it was. I'm afraid I have to get off now as I'm really tired tonight - see you tomorrow.
haha, all of you leaving is going to force me to work, that's for sure. 'night!
Mabel, W&V is thoroughly amusing indeed.
Oops, I almost forgot. According to someone on ATC, there was a photo feature on the NY RENT shoot in last Sunday's NY Daily News supplement. I don't know how we all missed that - but I'm going to look out for it at the library this weekend.
Isn't it though? Thrill of the Chase!?!? Good lord! I can just picture a 19/20 year old Adam w/ big hair bouncing around to that. *shakes head* What a long way he's come...well, yes and no, I guess. He still does have an endearing dorkiness about him that makes him so damn cute in spite of his general hotness.
Oh! They were online, I think, Chloe. Same ones that were everywhere, really.
Thrill of the Chase makes my world a little happier. And a little dumber. I tell myself he didn't write it.
Well, even if he didn't write it, he sang it. Willingly.
