OMG RAUL IS BACK! *much love*
I finally got a call from my roommate. She's got an adorable Spanish accent. I'm getting too excited. :O
Gogogo Emcee with that unpacking!
Okay, here's my RENT offering of the night. (And a burning question comes to mind - how in hell am I going to keep up with all this in a month or two?) Entertainment Weekly online has listed the ten movies they're most looking forward to, and RENT is #3. Not bad for a movie they were saying was cast all wrong a while back. Here's what they said:
RELEASE DATE Nov. 23
WHY WE CAN'T WAIT How about — lo-o-o-ve? Er, sorry, it's hard to resist singing the score to the long-awaited adaptation of the Broadway musical, which manages to reunite almost all of the original cast.
THE PREMISE In the 1980s, New York City's then-gritty East Village brings together cutting-edge young artists, sexual free-spirits, and tragically, the AIDS virus.
SOURCE Jonathan Larson's Tony-winning 1996 musical, which in turn is an update of Puccini's opera La Boheme
THE BACK STORY Rosario Dawson is one of the cast's few newbies, but she was raised in the neighborhood. 'Having grown up in a squat, I knew what it was like. And playing someone like [Mimi] just made me want to nurture that girl I grew up around.'
BURNING QUESTION Is anodyne kiddie-film director Chris Columbus (Home Alone, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone) the right director for this material?
COME FOR The names you know — Dawson, Taye Diggs, Law & Order's Jesse L. Martin
STAY FOR The names you may not know, including Idina Menzel, Adam Pascal, Anthony Rapp, and the amazing Wilson Jermaine Heredia as the drag queen Angel
heh. I juuuuuust got home, Lari. I met Chloe! And then I had a weeeeeird rest of the afternoon - so weird that I had to go shopping to forget about what all happened.
'twas time, in light of recent discussion, to bring Senor Esparza back for a bit. <3.
YAY for EW and Rent!
OMG! Did you kids have fun? Sorry the rest of the afternoon was weird.
And YAY RENT STUFF.
We did!
*mulls*
I don't know, I'm worried about one of my friends - and two of them really, really want me to go out drinking with them tonight... that's just not my thing, and they're not to... tactful about it when they do. I've never truly been "out drinking" before, and I just... meh, don't want to go. And you know, you'd think it would be okay, being that they're friends of mine, but it's like "oh, hon, we're gonna guilt you into coming - come on!" urgh. *cry*

Drinking? Oy.
I am such a lightweight. My family always let me drink (they're European)... but I just don't like the taste of alcohol.
And what I do drink is sissy drinks. ^_^ Woo!
Personally, I might go, but I wouldn't drink. And if it got outta hand, I'd probably end up slipping out... Unless I were the designated driver. Sheesh.
I don't like it either. I'm also small, and have had alcohol maybe... once or twice at all - and in VERY small quantities at family events and things.
See, but if I went, they're not going to just let me not drink, which is awful of them. They mean well, since they just wish I'd losen up a bit, and finally take advantage of my not being under my parents constant watch, since at home I was under really strict wraps, but they don't realize that I just... don't want to get into that. sigh.
I'm so tired that I'll probably fall asleep by the time they call anyway. They aren't leaving until like midnight.
Sounds like a plan!
But yeah, if they're just gonna pressure you to drink when you try to tell them that it just isn't what you want... Sigh. I know I'll probably get some of that in Pittsburgh, but I'm going to try to make it clear that I don't like losing control of myself via intoxication.
When I went to Italy, I had about a glass of wine with dinner--except I drank it before I ate. And I felt it really quickly.... I'm such a lightweight. ^_^;

Well, it's possible to drink a little and be okay. I think it's mostly 'knowing your limits,' but if they keep shoveling drinks your way... Oy.
CANADA IS AWESOME.

No more "Thank God for me!" Emcee?
I love Raul. I can't believe I haven't bought the Tick, Tick, Boom recording yet...
