hm. I feel like I need to check this out. I actually had an impulse to rush RENT tomorrow since Matt's coming back and all... *excitement*
Guys...we're not allowed to discuss this...I don't really think the moderators check anymore, but still...I'd cry if the thread got deleted!
Ok- no more discussion *cough eBay cough*
So....Adam... Back on topic!
So Adam. My love for him is just... it's so huge right now!
Wow. That was a really well-thought out comment.
*puts on Civilian*
:)
I have lost track of the number of times I've heard Civilian...seeing those pics today totally replenished my Adam high. This is going to take a *very* long time to go away.
I'm still not believing that I've actually met him...twice.
When I got into RENT two years ago, it seriously seemed like the OBC were gods. I mean, not that they're not but they're...accessible? gods now...::ponders::
*cries* I STILL haven't heard Civilian!! It hasn't arrived yet!
I knew I should have bought it at the concert! Grr...
I don't have it yet, AND I didn't go to the concert. ::cries harder::
*squeal*
This is not EVER going away. I'm proceeding to tell anyone who will listen how amazing Civilian is. My brother asked me if he could borrow my copy today to upload it to his computer. I told him he had to buy one himself because it's just that good and I'm shamelessly plugging. My second one came in the mail today, and Sh-k-Boom sent some flyers with it to "help spread the word." Fear no, Sh-K-Boom, spread the word I will!
They so should. I think I'd scare people away, though.
Hey, Noah wasn't scared of you!
He said Adam might do a tour in Florida...and he wanted the name of my school. Sadly, we have no auditorium currently because it is being built into a second gym. ::grumbles::
But still...how awesome would that be??? A tour I could see!
Seriously? They're going to ship him off to Florida?! Hm. Maybe I'll go visit my grandparents.
Yeah... Noah was really nice!! I was too shocked to be giggly and stupid.
Haha, I know what you mean...I was buying all my friends birthday presents and I said something about taking all my stuff back to Florida and he was like "You live in Florida? I'm trying to get Adam to do a tour down in Florida."
At which point I just sort of stood there with my mouth hanging stupidly open and then started babbling about how wonderful that would be.
Emcee--or you could come visit *me*! :)
haha, okay!
Yeah. I saw the Columbia '96 shirt and was like "wait a minute... ARE YOU NOAH?!!?"
Haha!
I'm now obssessed with the opening guitar part to "Ordinary Men Abound". I wonder if it's the guitar with the rose on it...
And I just realized something.
Does Adam even *have* a band? I mean I know he said he wasn't playing full orchestrations for us cuz he wanted us to be able to hear it in the original form, which was adorable, but...who plays with him when it's time for him to play the full version?
One more random thing...I absolutely *adored* the look on his face when he finished the first song and said "I've been waiting a *long* time to play these songs for you guys." He looked like a four year old at Christmas!
Yeah, the band exists... somewhere.
LOL! I missed that particular look. He's so silly, though. His facial expressions are the best. But a four-year-old at Christmas? That makes me happy; that playing his music makes HIM so happy. YAY!
Exactly. It was just this really goofy huge grin. ::melts::
well yay for huge goofy grins.
Here's what I don't understand...how is it possible for Adam to sing like that and not wreck his voice? I mean listening to the way he sings, I'd say his technique is horrendous, but he's been at it for what, ten years, *at least* and only sounds better if anything. Daphne, on the other, hand, you can tell has done damage to her vocal chords...that made me kinda sad. ::ponders::
Sorry...I'll stop being depressing...
lol, I'm no singer... but I do wonder that. I mean... maybe that's just the way his voice is... all... gravelly like that. You can definitely see a difference in the quality of his sound, though, like when he's been performing for a long time consecutively. He sounded great during AIDA, but he sounded a bit tired and kind of strained. That wasn't there on Sunday. He's got to be doing *something* at least kind of right.
Yes his technique IS horrible, but he has a very unique voice that seems to withstand it. He had one heck of a range and belting voice before Broadway, and I believe it will last for quite a while before it become apparent that damage is being done. As long as he takes days off when his voice needs it (unlike Idina, who is so obsessed with having good attendence that she will put her voice on the line to be at a show) I think he will be fine.
Idina has good technique though! At least now she does...RENT was another story...
::is jealous because she doesn't know how to belt safely and therefore won't try::
I agree that Adam isn't going to wreck his voice...that's the miracle of it. I just don't understand how...I'm glad for him, though.
I think everyone sounds tired after they've been performing for a while regardless of their technique. It's just human.
Well, I got my pictures back last night. Debated whether or not to look at them when I got back to the car or once I got home. Couldn't wait (shocker), so I opened them in the car. Then I marched right back into the store and told them I was not happy. Kept my cool, of which I was proud of, since I've been having a very lousy week and Monday and Tuesday were the worst. The first picture, which was of Euan had some miscoloring. Now, normally I would have thought maybe it was the film. Since I had doubles made and the miscoloring wasn't the same on the copy, I knew it was the machine. Then the Adam and Daphne pictures were cut wrong. There would be a part of one print with part of another print. Ask anyone who knows me, when it comes to my pictures I've obsessive, compulsive about them to the point where people make me go thru them, so they won't mess them up. I guess it's the frustrated photographer in me. Anyhow, the guy ran them through again, and everything came out fine. No one messes with my pictures, especially when they're of Euan and Adam!
