It starts off on this kind of "dark" piano solo, then the band kicks in, which sounds really cool. There's this twangy guitar in the back. And then there's a group of people singing, and I don't think Adam's in there. Then Adam starts singing, and gets echoed by the people. It's the strangest thing to describe.

It's just orchestrated. Like on a cast recording, it's more about his voice. On ths CD, there's a lot going on in the background. Not really distorted.

And Civilian is an anti-Bush song. It's really upsetting, but I have so much respect for Adam for writing that.

I still don't like what they did. I just want to hear his lovely natural singing.

I really like "Book of Endings" and "Tomorrow and the Sun". Especially "Tomorrow and the Sun". Something about it is REALLY nice.

No insomniak, I meant that it's upsetting about the lyrics. He says that a lot of this stems from being a father, and he's talking about having to send your kids to fight, etc. It's really sad.

They're creepy because they're about just how f*cked up our world is...there's nothing creepier than being reminded of that, and music has a way of being especially evocative. I think that's what it is...

And the whole rest of the world, Amasis. I saw an interview with Rupert Everett today and he was saying only the outside world (not the people living in the US) can see how much damage the Bush administration has done to the reputation to the US and the safety of the world. LOVE HIM! (Rupert, not Bush).
