OMG!!! THAT WAS SOOO AWESOME!!!! *squeals loudly* as soon as they started to talk about john larson i started to cry. then when adam came on singing 'glory' i like....died!!
I agree with insomniak. And his play really did change the world of theater. I just hope the movie comes out good...
I think Jonathan's family, Michael Greif, Tim Weil, and Bernard Telsey (Casting.. he obviously knew what he was doing ) should have some say in the creation of the movie. They were some of the closest people to Jonathan and might have ideas about what Jonathan would have wanted. Telsey should have some say in the casting because he was there the first time around and knew EXACTLY what Jonathan was looking for and would most likely do a fantastic job fulfilling the fame requirement but not losing the talent in the process. I also think it would be a good idea for the movie to be dedicated to him.

All of those people are actually involved, Noday.
That's a great idea about the dedication. I hope they do that.
Oh, they should SO dedicate the movie! That would be a really great idea!
'All of those people are actually involved, Noday.'
Really now? Yay! There is hope for this movie after all!
And yes, for some reason I want at the end of the film a picture of him (I like the one on pg 39 with his foot kicked up or the one on 35 where he's throwing away the shoes) and the quote from the Rent bible 'We dedicate this and every performance to the memory of Jonathan Larson' and then maybe an 'Another Day' quote. Anything remotely resembling that vision would make me happy
I love the page 39 picture! I did a report on him last year for school, and I had that picture enlarged, because it's so great.
So, have that photo with a "NDBT" quote under it. Or just a dedication sentence or 2.
And maybe they could have the soundclip of him singing 'Glory' while the credits are running!... Okay I am really pushing my luck here...

I would just......scream.......then die....
I would definately scream, but I refuse to allow myself to die until the film comes out on DVD, so that I can watch it over and over again (or if the movie doesn't appeal to me much, at least I could just run the credits multiple times) and die in the comfort of my own home haha
hey everyone, it's nice to be back =) This is so THE best thread ever created on this site, and I love you all for that.
I see last night was as emotional for you guys as it was for me!! WOW I had never heaed Jonathan's voice before, and to hear him, and to see him at work, being SO ALIVE...It just hurts so much. Even after 9 years, it's still hard to believe he;s gone because he had so much love and energy. ::sigh:: Wherever Jonathan is now, I really hope he knows how many young people he has touched through his music...I need to have a good cry now =*(
Best thread ever? YAY!
This is SO the best thread ever! Chica- you haven't heard TTB?? He sings "Boho Days" (track 13). That was the first time I heard him... TTB is SO amazing.
I really hope they dedicate the movie. I might have to write a letter to Chris Columbus saying they should do all the ideas that everyone had.

Well, she did listen to Aida the other day...
haha, thanks. Way to make me feel sane.
You don't fool us, Emcee...we *know* you're not sane! Otherwise we wouldn't love you so much!

Sanity is boring.
Tiff and I are moving here, want to join us?
I'm listening to Tick Tick Boom now. Actually, I really don't listen to it very often. I've become aquainted to so many new shows because of BWW that there are just too many shows and not enough time to listen to them. I love it because then when certain shows finally do surface in my shuffle of CDs, it's like I'm listening to it for the first time
Well I'm glad you ladies embrace my insanity.
I <3333333 Tick, Tick... BOOM!
I love TTB! I listened to that a few hours ago.
Now it's the AIDA karaoke. I'm singing "My Strongest Suit" for a talent show/audition thing on Wednesday, so I have to rehearse.
