Oy vey...don't remind me.
I'm supposed to sing "I'm Not That Girl" in competition in two weeks...I haven't even started rehearsing yet. Maybe once my show is over...
This is kinda off topic, but is the AIDA karaoke any good? I almost got it when I was at Colony, but it was really expensive so I ended up just getting Wicked.
Oooh good luck with that, Diva
Hmmmmm is the full accompaniment available for 'Louder Than Words'? I need some new material for my voice students and I think they might enjoy that. Any other upbeat songs for small groups (ie 6 or less people) that you can think of? I guess I could start another thread... I don't know. Was thinking maybe 'Not Me' from Aida because I have a *very* strong tenor (I swaer that kid is gonna be the next... dare I say it... Adam Pascal) and some other extremely talented kids. I want to challenge them, I want them to learn something, but I still want it to be fun. I figured this thread would be a good place to ask, as you all are such a wild/crazy/fun group of people

Oooh, the next Adam Pascal? Can I come kidnap him? How old is this guy?
I know there is TTB sheet music...they told me there's no karaoke at Colony, but I've heard people say it does exist, so I'm not sure. However, Louder Than Words is not hard to play...so that might be an option.
Thanks everyone! And good luck NTG on the "Not that Girl" compeition!
The AIDA karaoke is actually VERY good. The karaoke part is excellent, with background and everything, so you don't have to worry about getting back-up singers. The only thing that drives me crazy is the vocal tracks. The singers on there make me want to scream "Where's Adam, Heather, and Sherie?" So just don't listen to the first disk if you know what's good for you But the rest is great.
Okay. There won't ever be another.
Insomniak, the new avatar.... lemons?

And we don't need a new Adam. The one we have is just dandy. Besides, is this kid as good looking?
I do love me some lemons, Emcee. Notice the heart. I'm in the process of making a good avatar... I need a new graphics program.
I'm gonna keep my eyes open for the louder than words piano music... otherwise I will search through some karaoke discs etc...

Actually, I've been bugging him to join the boards. He is quite Broadway-savvy, and I think he would like it here. He said he would try to post tonight but it could be pretty late. I'm not sure what his username will be either, so I told him to introduce himself. His name is Kyle, I'd say he's 15 or 16 years old but I'm not sure, and I know you all would like him, as his goal is to play Roger in Rent I'll leave the rest of the 'introducing' up to him though...

Well, there you have it! He's all mine.
Dibs!
YAY LEMONS!
Hi I'm the Kyle person Amanda has been telling you about... Ummm you'll have to excuse me I'm sort of shy, but what are your names? Where are you from? What shows do you like? And you'll just have to bear with me while I get the hang of this.
Yay! You came! I promise you will like this board
Hey! Welcome to the boards (Emcee will give you an official welcome!) Welcome to the lair of the Adam groupies!
You have to bear with our craziness
Emcee? As in Cabaret? Oooh (in the words of Annie)
'I think I'm gonna like it here!' Don't worry. I spend quite a bit of time around crazy broadway people, and enjoy every minute of it. Thanks for your warm welcome!

Hey Kyle! It's nice to meet you. Tell us about yourself.
In answer to your questions, I'm stuck in Ohio and I'm fairly new to broadway and too broke to buy many OBCRS. I do love Rent, ttB, Rocky Horror, Hair and Taboo.
Oh, I forgot to introduce myself! I live in NY (about an hour away from NYC), and I love RENT, AIDA, JCS, GODSPELL, PIPPIN, TABOO, and many others. I'm obsessed with Broadway and I hope to be there some day! I do a lot of theatre in my town, and I love to sing.
Oh yes, and I'm an Offical Adam Groupie, along with the rest of us here!
Yep, Emcee as in Cabaret. Personal favorite of mine.
Willkommen.
Bienvenue.
Welcome!
I'm not really insane, I promise.
Anyway, questions...
I live in New York City (I go to Columbia. Well, sort of. I'm a Barnard girl.) I'm originally from a small town in upstate New York.
Favorite shows: Aida, Rent, Cabaret, Oklahoma!
Ummm okay....
My name is Kyle, I'm turning 16 in December, and I live in Mckinney Texas, which is a suburb of Dallasm. I do NOT worship George W Bush as is assumed of most Texans, and as soon as I am old enough, I plan on moving to New York and trying my hand on Broadway. Hopefully, with help from my voice coach, Amanda (AKA NoDayButToday2) I will be fully prepared to kick some butt on Broadway. I like Sondheim musicals, but not as much as I do the more contemporary musicals. I like anything and everything Adam Pascal has ever been in, auditioned for, or sung songs from, which is leading me to believe we will get along just fine I am one of the very few straight boys in the broadway community, and am currently in a school production of 'Joseph and the Amazing Techinicolor Dreamcoat'. Anything else you'd like to know?
* Sorry I wrote this after you two posted again *
Very nice to meet you both. I can tell we will get along quite well just by reading what your ambitions and musical intrests are
Oh, we're going to get along well. I'm a self-proclaimed unhealthy Adam fan. This man has stolen all of my sanity.
I adore your screen name, by the way.
Thanks Emcee, I like your screen name too

A STRAIGHT BOY!
Sorry, but that brings the total count up to about eight... big news.
I wish I knew more about tradtional theatre, but I don't know where to start, there's so much to know. I like the Music Man and Sound of Music and Chicago...
And yes, we are often pyschotic on this thread. You are warned.
Bonus points for Kyle for braving the Adam Thread!
Have you heard, Kyle? I have deemed you a possible Adam Pascal successor (or as close to one as you can get)... We need to record something for these girls to hear!
shh! We must bring it on EASILY.
I present actors with sporks, by the way. Just to warn you....
And thanks! The real Emcee rocks my socks, hence the screen name.

Actually, only Adam gets the spork treatment. He's just so special.
Can we hear a clip of you singing? I'm curious about this possible 'new Adam'.
Awww stop it you're making me blush! Are straight boys really THAT uncommon here? I will have to meet them. I just decided I would start small and then work my way to other threads. And I am flattered by your Adam Pascal comment, but I still have some work to do. I'd rather not get too ahead of myself Pus he is FAR from needing a successor...
*Will a picture of myself do for now? Hold on a second while I am walked through the increadibly complicated art of posting a picture...
Wait. YOU sound like Adam? AND you're straight? You're younger than I, though... *sigh*
