Yay! That's awesome! You're going to have an Adam-filled November!
Which roughly translates to "Emcee won't have to eat for all of November!"
*breaks out jello* You always have jello to eat (or not eat).
oh! I totally have another box of jello. I'll have to make it next week.
Aw Emcee you are so lucky and I am so happy for you! But what is this about not eating? Don't do that! There are enough starving people in the world without people intentionally starving themselves...
Then again, its not really any of m business. Just looking out for ya thats all... You MUST post reviews for the less fortunate BWW posters
Okay, see... I have this weird weird thing where when I'm really excited for something, I can't eat. I feel like if I eat, I'm going to get really sick, so I just don't. Adam is one of those things that makes me very excited, and I can never eat before I see him. Very, very odd, I know.
Okay that sort of makes sense. You do what you want just be careful though it would really suck to pass out or something at a concert...
Yeah, that's why a few weeks ago my friend made me eat Jello. Usually, in the past it would just be for shows, and they were almost always matinees. So I'd wake up, eat like... toast for breakfast and then go until after the show (5 or 6) without being able to eat. The show at Kean wasn't til 7 at night or something, so I definitely needed to eat at least a little.

And you're seeing him twice in one weekend, right? You'd better be careful...
Don't make me come up to NYC and force jello down your throat!
Heres a couple boxes for you
I gotta go for the night so talk to you ladies tomorrow!

Yay! I got Civilian, and I love it.
There are no bad songs on this whole cd, andd that's a rare thing. I love every one. but I do have a few favorites:
Something Of Ours
Book Of Endings
10,000 Miles
No Trace
And my very favorite -The Ringing In My Ear.
I can definetly relate to these songs. They all mirror this on again/off again relationship i'm in. I think Something of Ours would be my song for him, and I'd like to think The Ringing In My Ear would be his that or No Trace.. Ok I just got a little personal there. Sorry! Back to Adam.
It would be something to hear these songs live, and those of you that did, and will are very lucky. He sounds great. I also got the sample Bare cd, but like a lot of you, I can't bring mysef to take Civilian out of my cd player to listen to it yet. I can't say I like it more or less than Model Prisoner, I love them both the same, though I do feel that Civilian shows a more mature Adam, as a performer and songwriter, but that's only natural, since it's been a few years in between cds, and a lot has happened.
So that's my Civilian review. I'm sure I'll write more on that later, but this is all for now. I know it's been discussed before, but I'm interested in what all of your favorite songs are, and why, and if you can relate to them personally, like me.
Hope everyone had a safe and happy Halloween!
I'm so glad you love it, Lara. I can't wait to see him perform this stuff again; it makes him so happy.
OneBlaze, thank you! That made me smile.

Thanks guys. I really did enjoy it. Which songs spoke the most to you?
By the way, am I the only one who thinks when he performs live he should sing 'Heal Me I'm Heartsick' from School of Rock? I would also kill to hear him sing Cohen's 'Hallelujah'. I think he'd do an even better version than the late, great Jeff Buckley, though it would be hard to top, I think Adam might be able to pull it off.
I think that lyrically speaking, I'm With You is my favorite. It's just so beautiful. I love his metaphors. I'd love to see him sing "Heal Me, I'm Heartsick" in person. I never thought it was a particularly great song, but he sang it so well!
I like the song 'Civilian' the best. I just love how it sounds... how the song starts with the single piano, builds up, then strips down back to just the guitar/piano, and then back with all the layers. It's beautiful . And then I like 'Tomorrow and the Sun' and 'Something of Ours'. That last one sounds it could have been written by McCartney. It's rip-off of the Beatles!!! (just kidding
)
And I'm with Emcee about 'Heal Me..' from School of Rock. Not crazy about it.
I agree Amasis 'Heal Me' isn't the best song in the world, but like Emcee said, he sings it so well, that he makes the song good. He didn't recieve any credit on the soundtrack for it, which kind of makes me mad, but I would just think it would be nice to hear him sing it live. Heck, I'd love to hear him sing anything live.
I still hold to my theory that he could sing the phone book and I would be enthralled.
Okay, my computer screen looks all blurry and my eyes feel like they're about to fall shut. I think I need to get to sleep. This business of staying up to see Anthony Rapp's posts (time difference and all) has got to stop; I'm not sleeping enough at all. Goodnight ladies!
I agree I would listen to him sing the phone book I'd even listen to him sing the alphabet. Night Emcee!
The thing with the time difference... Tomorrow as you guys are finding out who will be president for the next four years, I will be out at a client meeting because it will be the morning of the 3rd over here. And I'm sure I'm going to be very jumpy waiting to hear the results... Anyway, have a good night everyone!

oooh, yes. The alphabet! That would be fun as well.
Anyway, just bumping the Adam love because... well, because of several things:
1. HAPPY NOVEMBER 2nd, EVERYONE! Civilian officially hits stores today. Adam, I'm so proud of you! (Not that you're reading, but whatever...) I think I'm going to go to a store today just so I can see it. Sick? Nope; devoted.
2. Since it is November, I will now be bouncing for the next four weeks... three appearances lined up so far. YAY!
3. If you look on BroadwayWorld's headlines (well, right now anyway) the first three linnks are about Civilan.
YAY!
It sure is a big day today, Emcee!
I want to hear all about the Tower Records thing next week (and the two Joe's Pub concerts coming up). Yay for Civilian!
Shows where my priorities are... I SHOULD be getting ready to go out and vote!
Off I go...
Ah. I feel left out today, everyone is going out and voting, but I already voted 3 weeks ago! (through absentee ballot).
'1. HAPPY NOVEMBER 2nd, EVERYONE! Civilian officially hits stores today.'
I was just about to say, Emcee ... Apart from the PRESIDENT OF THE US being elected today!!!! Please let's get our priorities right
So please everyone get out there and vote... unless you vote for Bush, then just stay at home and listen to Civilian
