Hey just so you know... I'm not TRYING to suck up to any of you. You ask a question, you get an honest answer.

'Mr. Pascal, I'm going to need to see your 'straight guy' membership card.'
Haha... can you imagine how many teenage girl's worlds would come crashing down around them if Adam announced he was gay? hmm. Maybe he's seen/heard a little too much Wicked or something. 'Fabulosity' doesn't sound too far fetched from a musical including 'definish' and 'swankified'...
'You don't need to try, it comes naturally.'
Is that a good thing or a bad thing?
Edit: ::gasp:: I called Wicked a play instead of a musical...
Hey. I'd think it's cute... but that's because I'm sick and twisted. And, not like it would *matter,* I mean, we still can't have him.
Swankified made me think of the sporkified.... ah, memories.

Not you all specifically... that comment was more directed to the 'annoying pre-teens' from the last concert that had no idea what book of endings was about, and were screaming and spazzing because he looked at them or something.
I mean, not that the fact that he is MARRIED isn't enough, but some of those people apparently thought they might actually have a chance with him....

Yes. Even *I* know that.
amasis, if you get time, would you like to add anything else to our other discussion? That book sounds interesting, but I'm curious as to where you stand on these things, if that's not too foward to ask.
Do we want to get into a full-fledged discussion on it on an Adam Pascal Love thread, though? Because I have a feeling the definition of 'god' and 'religion' can get entirely skewed. (Note to Emcee: a spork does not qualify as a holy relic.)
Kidding aside, just to add a little bit: Basically I'm a spiritual person; but one who's not very much into organized religion. I think organized religions are a useful way of getting guidance *sometimes* and a useful way to express and connect with your spirituality *sometimes*. But I also believe the structures were invented by men and when people take them too seriously, a lot of trouble ensues.
It wasn't that I had a bad experience with religions: I grew up in a relatively liberal muslim family ('relative' being a keyword here, because even though we weren't too religious, the place I grew up in still had a very traditional culture irrespective of the people's faith). And then I spent some time in a pretty conservative catholic household in the US, and then I lived for a long time in Boston, among very liberal-minded people. So I've had a lot of opportunities to evaluate my beliefs, I guess. ... But before I got sucked into this anymore, and forget my deadlines entirely, I better go. insomniak - feel free to PM if you want. I love discussing things like this, but a. right now i have to go, and b. maybe not what people want to read when they click on 'Official Adam Pascal Love Thread'.
Then again, I'm talking to a professional threadjacker, so why am I worrying... .

I can definetly see the advantages of not following an organized religion, you can explore your faith more on your own terms, but it's good for people who like the community aspect *nods to Emcee*. To each her own.
Sorry to threadjack, I'll take you up on that PM in a bit.
Note to Emcee: a spork does not quality as a holy relic
rotfl.
Thank you for that.
but it's good for people who like the community aspect
Right; and my approach works for me because I hate people. *nods*
Okay, seriously -- I can definitely see the advantage of that. In fact, I was just talking with a really cool pastor about the community aspect of religions. To him, his work has been all about creating this wonderful community, which I think is great. That's why I think they can be useful for some people.
Okay, I'm really going back to work now, dammit!
Oh, and Emcee: you quoted me *before* I fixed my typo. *pouts*
