Mine clicks incessantly. The case is shot, too. The little grippy things fell out and now the CD doesn't stay in.

erm, i just got the aida cd. *hides*
what happened is i originally bought the one with sting, the spice girls, etc, thinking it was the obc. i got home and ripped off the plastic only to find that i was a careless shopper and grabbed the wrong cd. and i didn't have enough money to buy a new cd since my parents are now making me pay for a lot of my dance lessons and i haven't had time to babysit or get a job yet. but now i have the aida cd and it is playing on shuffle on my computer.

it's really, really bad. it came out in 1999, before the musical opened (i think). my guess is that it was some kind of publicity thing. they killed the songs. i mean, the spice girls singing strongest suit? (and one of my dance teachers even chose a poorly edited version of that for one of our recital numbers- oy). the obc is MUCH better. i've had it less than 24 hours and i've already listened to it about three times. :)

have you tried cleaning the cd? whenever i get cds from the library, they usually skip. i clean the bottom with a little bit of eyeglass cleaner, and they usually play significantly better.

edit- oy, my spelling is getting worse by the minute.

Yeah - I've cleaned the poor thing a billion times. It's very, VERY scratched. It's almost five years old, and even though that's not old, it's been literally played almost every day for those five years, sometimes for hours on end. It doesn't skip in more than one or two places, but the whole show clicks from the scratches.
