*covers eyes*
I'm irrationally afraid that this movie will cause him to never appear on a Broadway stage ever again.
If the movie is even mildly successful, it's probably going to do wonders for CD sales, because hopefully people will fall in love with his voice on screen just like they do in person, or on a recording. It's hard to say, since we know that he originally wanted to devote his life purely to music, and this musical theatre thing just sort of randomly happened. But, that said, you should hear the way he talks about Cabaret... how much fun he had, and how his eyes light up when he talks about it. Hopefully having that experience will keep him with us. I want him to be happy, but I'm selfish, and I'm scared.
Vicious cycle indeed, unfortunately.
ETA - *squeal* picture. Such blue eyes. YAY!
Right, QM, the movie might not do well, in which case it won't make all that much difference. I don't see Adam as a Hollywood actor either, though I could see him taking another role in a musical or some project that especially appeals to him.
Damn, my image links are certainly "optional."
oh, QM. Lighter note, but I wish you had seen Temptation.... film acting + Adam = not pretty.
"Such blue eyes. YAY! "
Yeah... I prefer his eyebrows like that, too. I wonder why he decided to change them.
I feel like a bad, useless fangirl for not noticing a difference.
ETA - wait. Looking through more recent pictures. DEFINITELY waxed....
I read your Temptation review, Emcee. I really hope I get to see it some day, as it sounds like a one-of-a-kinder, even if in a bad way. I think Adam has the potential to do well as a film actor, so I suspect it was the direction that wasn't working. Actors are much more at the mercy of a film director than a theater director. And no one can say he's not a fast learner.
"And no one can say he's not a fast learner."
Very true. Hopefully working with a more experienced director (which is perhaps the most I can say for CC) will knock something into him. They're going to have to pull a better job than what he gave Temptation out of him for this. He looked like he was trying, but he was over-acting... I really hope the world gets to see that movie. *shakes head*
"I feel like a bad, useless fangirl for not noticing a difference."
I think it was Insomniak who first pointed it out. Wonder what it's all about, though. Like I said already somewhere, he doesn't need any help to look good, don't know what's going on with all the extra grooming.
Over-acting, huh. That's the easiest trap to fall into on film, where in a close-up the slightest muscle twitch registers. But anyway, that movie was made a while ago. I think he's learned a lot since then.
He seems to enjoy variations in the grooming department. In my four years of devotion alone, his hair has been about ten different colors. I have a friend who I took to see him in AIDA over the summer, and she's a mild fan, but every time I show her an old picture of him, she goes on and on about not ever having seen someone who constantly looks so different. Whatever. Beauty. The end.
You just inspired me to re-read the Temptation thread. My roommate was looking at me funny... I was laughing REALLY hard. Ah, Temptation. What a wonderful thing.
"she goes on and on about not ever having seen someone who constantly looks so different."
You're right - he's practically unrecognizable from project to project. Have to laugh about the hair too, it's a different color or length every few months, it seems.
Keeps things interesting. For us and for him, I guess. Can I put on my shallow teenager hat for one second and say how disappointed I was in him in the late summer when his highlights were TOTALLY grown out? It was like "look at my dark roots! You know you love them, because, well, I'm beautiful."
*removes shallow fangirl hat*
The unrecognizability (is that a word? sorry - I'm taking a study break and am terribly hyper) is also because he looks better and better as he gets older.

Hey guys! What's up?
Luckily, the majority of his hair styles look BEAUTIFUL!
Well, except that bleached blonde. That makes me sad. But your avatar makes me smile. *bounce*

NICE guitar, NTG! I wish I could play.
Very pretty, NTG!
Gorgeous, NTG. Congratulations and have fun!
My computer just crashed, which is probably the universe's way of telling me to get off my ass and get some stuff done. I'm off to do Christmassy things. Have a good day!
Hehe...Allie, I can't play. But hopefully I'll be learning soon.
By the way, guys, his name's Adam.
Well. What a LOVELY name.
Bye, Chloe!
His name's Adam? Good choice.
*big squeal*
