I'm not in the clear yet, I have two weeks following break...
Is everyone off having a life tonight?
I still have school next week *grumbles* But thank god it's Friday!!!
No life tonight. I'm seeing BKLYN tomorrow, then hitting the mall for last minute shopping on Sunday. Oh yes, and I have a bunch of reports to do. *grumbles again that I'm stuck in school another week*
NTG, I guess you're not around at the moment, but I wanted to say how much I enjoyed your screenplay too, especially the Roger/April scenes. Putting Seasons of Love at the beginning was a daring move, and I'm not sure how I feel about it from an emotional point of view, but the way you used it to introduce all the characters was great. Can't wait to see what you come up with next!
ahh, NTG! You go the picture to work! YAY!
Thanks for the clarification, by the way, re: climax. I needed that.... *evil grin*
::feels loved::
Hey guys...guess what. I'm off to get my guitar.
YAY!!!
Now you can... play.... *shuts mouth*
hey guys just got back from the Rush line for the 2 pm show.. How is everyone? I feel so far behind since i wasn't on at all yesterday..
Just read the interesting NY Times "No-Show" article posted on the main board. It's point is that actors can no longer make it on Broadway stardom alone, they need film and television too, and producers are therefore more inclined to give them time off from their shows for other gigs, which leads to audience disappointment when the star doesn't show up, which leads to producers wanting shows that don't rely on stars. It's sort of a vicious circle that could eliminate Broadway musical stars.
This naturally lead me to think about the Rent movie and what it might potentially do for the original cast members' careers. The irony is that if, for instance, Adam becomes a big name as a result of the film, he will be that much more desirable to Broadway producers. I think the biggest beneficiary would be his CD sales, though, and I really wonder if he would still want to perform as an actor in any medium if he could support himself with his music. Has appearing in a show like Cabaret created a lasting desire to keep doing that kind of work? It'll be interesting to see what develops.
Here's one of my new favorite pictures. So far I've had no luck posting pictures, so try the link if the pix doesn't show up.
Another great picture
I guess it all depends on the success of the movie. If it's going to be huge I assume Adam will try to focus on his music career and maybe leave Broadway behind. At the end of the day, his music is his passion.
I don't see him as an Hollywood actor though
