*bump*
Okay, so I know there's another thread about his performance, but it should be on this thread...
He was amazing, looked great, but he looked so sad most of the time.
From the thread on the main board, in case you're looking for this:
*BIG SNAPS*
For my favourite leading man. I was hoping they'd talk to him a bit, and that he'd do a more "rock" song than I'm With You, but this song means a lot to him, so it makes me happy. I made my mom and brother watch with me, and I was just sitting there smiling. This is huge for him, and I'm so happy - not just happy that I got to see him on TV, but literally happy FOR him. You all know that. Everyone in the audience got a copy of Civilian, too... so big yay.
I think he sounded GREAT. I was kind of disappointed when he was so subdued at the beginning of the song, but when he grabbed the mic and bent his knees, my mom and I both looked at each other and were like "ah, there he goes...." Looked great, too. For amasis, in particular - he wore that suit he wore to the AIDA closing party. I suppose I'd hoped for something a bit more casual and rock star-esque, but maybe that's what Saturday is for.
Adam, I love you so much, and you continue to do us all proud. ROCK. ON.
Oh, and guys - check out my new avatar.
I noticed the tears in his eyes. The emotion we get from him just kills me.
"Bdwaygirl, SO good to see you on here again."
Thanks!
"'pretty boys' (like your Euan)"
That made me giggle!
Well, I spent a 1/2 hour going from conference room to conference room trying to find decent reception and NOTHING, NADA, ZILCH! GRRR! Guess I'll have to wait to see for myself when I get home.

Hey Em can you leave a review on that yet? I'm hoping the settings have been fixed now..
I'll try in a minute.
Thanks!! you Rock!!
**is turning into a review whore**
At least I got to see the show, but MY VCR WOULD NOT GO INTO RECORD. There must be some kind of anti-Adam techno-bugs around.
I was surprised and happy that he chose to do "I'm With You." There's so much calculation and manipulation in marketing music that it's refreshing to see someone just go with what he thinks is the most important or the best song. I was nervous for him, and I think he was a little nervous, but he really conquered that, didn't fidget and just concentrated on singing. The very end was especially beautiful, going up an octave for the last phrase.
A few days back there was a thread in which someone mentioned Adam having to put up with squealy fangirls, and someone else replied that "he so signed up for that." I didn't respond, but I "so disagree with that." He is no doubt happy to have any fans he can get, but if he were really going for the teenyboppers, sh-k-boom would have pages of pictures of him splashed over their site, for one thing. Appearing on Broadway is the last thing most performers would do in order to attract squealy fangirls, too.
I think he wants primarily fans of his MUSIC, not of his looks. Not that he doesn't try to look good - it would be foolish not to, but it's so obvious that the music comes first.
*applauds Chloe*
Did you all catch the one little fidget at the very beginning, though? It was adorable, but I was like "oh, God. He's so nervous. Come on, Adam... you've done this a million times." And, he delivered.

*cries for Allie*
oh, and Chloe - I remember that comment, and I remember who it was from. Had it been from anyone else, I'd have gone and assumed that they meant it as 'of course he knows he's going to get squealing teenagers' in the sense that he knows he's very attractive and very talented. But, given who posted that comment, I know they meant that they think he simply goes looking for squealing teens, because those are the only people blind enough to find talent somewhere that it doesn't exist, in this person's particular opinion. That said, it's clear he didn't go into this industry just to get people to fawn over him; it's all about his music, but it's clear that he knows that given his circumstance, voice, and physicality, he's going to get that kind of reaction as part of the territory... and, I think he's thankful. At least, I hope he is.
gah. He was so wonderful today.
"Did you all catch the one little fidget at the very beginning, though?"
I don't remember noticing it, and now of course I DON'T GET TO GO BACK AND CHECK. I really feel for Allie though, what a shame.
Shame on you, Jacob, for bringing up sporks in the Anthony Rapp thread. You are forcing me to comment that Catherine Zeta-Jones' boobs aren't real. But you probably knew that, right?
It was kind of.... part fidget, part moving with the music. He covered it well. Does ABC usually post The View's musical appearances online? I think sometimes they might!
And yes, I glared at jacob. I think Anthony knows that there's some kind of Adam-related spork joke because it's been brought up before, but WE ARE NOT EXPLAINING IT TO HIM.
*innocent look*
Oooh yea the fidget thing. I was like "Adam, WHAT was that??" But it was cute.
My TV screen is a 60 inch, so it's almost life-size. I was definitely speaking to my TV screen, cheering Adam on for a bit of the song. My mother looked at me really strangely, and then laughed at me. I think she's catching on to just how bad I've truly got it...
Em~ why is it that I can picture that??
so funny.. Cute but funny
I breathe along with singers when I'm really into listening to someone, taking big gulps of air in between phrases. Fortunately there was no one else here to observe this, but I know it's disconcerted people in the past.
I would really have enjoyed hearing you cheer Adam on too.
I swear to God I spoke to my television. And when it was 11:50, I was like "DAMN IT! YOU ONLY HAVE TEN MINUTES. GIVE US ADAM!" I'm not kidding at all... but then again, I talk to electronic appliances quite often. My computer has a name, and I call him by it. I also speak to my iPod on a regular basis.... usually when I'm angry at them, but it's all the same.
I promise I'm sane.
Which reminds me --- for those of you who'll be watching your tapes tonight, there's a nice little Adam montage at the very head of the show, taken from the Broadway.com video for Joe's Pub, a mention of him that brings cheers shortly after that, and then nothing until he appears in the last five minutes. However, Don Cheadle's appearance (first guest) is worth watching. He's an interesting guy, very thoughtful and intelligent.
**pouts even more**
I wont be watching it at all.. stupid vcr was actig dumb..
Also.. on an unrelated subject..why the heck wont my fanfic allow annonymous users to leave reviews.. I have it set to accept them..
**headdesk**
Hmmm that's odd, cam. It won't let them at all? Or it's just not showing them?

it's telling them that I dont accept annonymous reviews.. I even double checked my settings.. the box isn't checked so it should work.. This is annoying.. I've had serveal people want to review but couldn't.. I tried saving the setting one more time too, then logged out tested it and it still says I dont accept annoymous reviews..
**headdesk**
cam, I thought you had to wait 24 hours after changing the setting for it to take affect?
I watched Adam again. His eyes were open most of the time, too! YAY!
Emcee's right-- it takes up to 24 hours for any change. So probably by tomorrow or maybe even tonight it should be fine.
**grumble**
NTG said changes never take that long.. but since of course it has to be the case this time.. Oh well..
mmmm Adam again..
