Maybe he hears the WILL all perfect and beautiful in his ears!

haha! One can wonder...

How bad is bad when he screws up? And why does he not go for a note he can hit?
Well, I don't think it sounds that bad to tell you the truth. He squeals out WILL and hits FORGET perfectly. He refuses to bring down the note (like Cheyenne or Will Chase).
I think the average theatre goer wouldn't pick up on it, only obsessed fans

I'm going to go with QM's theory.
"WHAT is the big deal? This is exactly how I want it to sound."
Honestly, the shows that I saw, he cracked but it didn't sound terrible. But I only saw him during his first round.
lol, I always figured that it was just because of the big jump between "will" and the note before it. But then again, I'm no singer. I mean, his range allows for it. And he doesn't take it down because he's Adam Pascal and he CAN do it. He knows that!

But if there are 'icks' in the audience, doesn't that mean people can tell?

Look through this thread, there's some things on voices.
NativeNewYorker and I had a conversation about adams "will forget" the other night. If anything, he is consistent!! And people are EXPECTING him to crack/squeak on that note. How can he let them down?
Ok, now let me crawl in my little hole of denial!
There are no 'icks' in the audience when he doesn't hit WILL. Well, at least not in the 60000 Aida audiences I sat in

GITF, join me in Eygpt...
"I'm going to be so nervous for him before that note... on Wednesday I was like "come on, come on, come on" but he missed it... rather badly. There were definitely other people were like "aw, man" and some were like "wtf was that? ugh."
Oh well... and yeah, he'll know. "
Emcee says otherwise, QM...
If he hits it on sunday, he is getting a standing "O" from me, right there and then!
Emcee probably sat next to me without realizing!
I have never heard a reaction on Adam's WILL FORGET in the audience, only my own!

I want a full report from whoever goes! And undiscovered, I forgot to ask, how did it sound when you went?
Agreed, on Friday he didnt crack so much as Squeak. If that makes any sense at all. haha.
My personal O-pinion,
Is that he does not have what it takes
I hope he proves me wrong.
I doubt he will.
Sorry - i thought of this line and it was perfect. I couldnt resist.
"I really don't know. He can definitely hit the note. He has hit higher ones!! Maybe a "singer" can help us. I think it might have to do with the note before it. I will find out from a technical point"
Undiscovered, I don't really sing professionally but I've had training. I'm never good at explaining this though, but it does have something to do with the way you place the pitch. I haven't listened again to check, but I'm convinced the note in Pity the Child is higher than 'will' forget. He could do the note in Pity The Child because of the way he placed the pitch, and I suspect he might have been able to go higher, the way he placed it. With EPT he has to place it lower, and so it makes it harder to hit that note. And he's trying to sound angry as well. I suck at talking about this, though. So sorry if this didn't make sense... =)

I kinda get what you are trying to say, amasis. So it's kind of a mental block thing? Like he can't do it right?
I believe in Pity the Child he is in more of a head voice. Where in "Enchantment..." he is belting. He could totally hit the note in his falsetto though.
And Undiscovered, AGreed.

What is the difference between a belt and a falsetto, and can you do the same note in both?
I've heard people say that about Adam's falsetto before - that he needs to use that to hit "Will forget." Who knows? I love him anyway. And yeah... he seems to squeak more than he cracks, lol!
Yeah, he's using his chest voice in EPT. He could hit it even belting, but it takes a lot to do the leap up for him. And yeah, sometimes after you've cracked enough times, it becomes a psychological thing, too, sometimes.
Oh, I hope, I hope he hits it on the last show. And then I want to see his reaction when the front orchestra goes absolutely nuts.

I try to imagine him squeaking, and the only mental image/sound effect I can conjure is a rubber duck.
"And then I want to see his reaction when the front orchestra goes absolutely nuts."
That'd be priceless.
LOL, insomniak!! He does squeak - it's actually kind of funny.

Rubber duckie, you're the one...
