If you google it you may be able to find more coherent explanation than you would from me. Or maybe there are singers here who are also teachers and can explain better.
*Chest Register: is a deeper full sound. Same voice you use in speech, and it's what you use to get to the lower notes of your range. You feel the resonance in your chest when you're singing this.
* Middle Register: blend of chest and head register. It's when you're moving from your chest voice to your head voice. Once you can do the transition smoothly, it can be called middle register.
* Head voice: You use this to sing the higher notes. My teacher always says that for this you should feel the resonance in the cheekbones.
* Falsetto: really high notes
edited to add: insomniak -- also, if a note is in a transition range between one register and the next, the blending can be tricky to do. So if Adam cracks is not because the note too high for him; he just couldn't quite negotiate that transition between head/chest. And the vowel sound is difficult ("will") and he's trying to be angry and growly. =)

Okay. Too funny. Just too funny.
And yes. Anytime Adam opens his mouth = Love. I'm not a singer at all, but I get what you're saying, amasis. The jump between the notes might be too much, and it does need to sound angry. Adam's falsetto is too sweet and pretty. Oh well, more power to him, since we all know he CAN do it.

He could however just not take it up to that note.

By the way, someone in CompulsiveBowler said that in the score, it's not supposed to be that high. Either Adam took it higher in rehearsal and now he's stuck with it.

I'm still crossing my fingers for our boy on Sunday, though. Something tells me he might just do it on Sunday... or I'm just a sick little optimist - one of the other.

We HAVE to agree on this... if he hits it we ARE so going to cheer, right?

LOL! That'd be so funny. Funny thing - that last note in "Willkommen," he was TOTALLY showing off... took it up REALLY high. I loved it, though.
