Just back from an Oscar party with some other sound editors. The awards were almost tolerable this year, owing to Chris Rock and the amount of general babble, jeering and cat-calling going on at the party. I find that much better than sitting at home and cringing half the night.
I think we quieted down for a few of the major awards and Sidney Lumet, who many of us have worked with and who made a decent speech. The other award-winner that a lot of us know or have seen around is editor Thelma Schoonmaker, who has worked in New York with Scorcese a long time.

Not yet. But all of the schools let out early. It's not going to snow for another few hours. We're supposed to get a foot or more of snow. *thinks about shoveling* Grrr.

Yeah. I did it for 6 months last year, then stopped. So now I'm attempting to do it again. It's harder the 2nd time around.

It worked great for me-- I lost around 30 pounds. But then I got lazy and stopped counting carbs and just ate everything. I hate how that happens. So now I have to stop eating carbs and get back on track, even though I don't want to.

I gained probably 1/2 of the weight I lost. So I'll be happy just to lose that and a little more. This is mostly so I can actually look good in a graduation dress for June, so if I lose 15 pounds by then, I'll be VERY happy.
