FOR MEMORIES SAKE
Apparently I have to spice up this message because Catherine is bored of my original opening message. Greg Jbara grew up a simple boy, he enjoyed the common things, like being in the band, playing tuba, he loved eating fire, although that did result in several throat problems, which he has, in fact gotten over. Well, Greg has gone from a fire eating tuba player to a singing and dancing and hoovering-in-the-air-on-the-GregCam man. We all enjoy watching him disappear and reappear, attempts to murder the crazy sexxay bellboy Andrew Asnes, who in turn, tries to get his revenge on poor Gregory.

As time goes by his group of fans gets bigger and crazier. Creating a fanclub with intense rules that's harder to get into than an Ivy League college. Girls fighiting over marriage of a virtual chimp, and obsessing over his shorts, and non-existant...or is it...tattoo.

To sum up this essay... Greg Jbara- He whips chimps, he woos shrews, he eats fire, he floats, and wears the most amazing shorts in the world. To top it all off, Greg Jbara, the nicest and coolest man alive, we love him.

WELL HERE WE GO...


Where to begin? Well, we got our tickets for the show, I saw DRS with my cousin Rachel and my cousin Robert went to go see the Pillowman. We were going to see RENT but the tickets were 70 dollars for back row, and well, no way. Not to mention I HAD to cheer on Greg!


After we had lunch we had 2 hours to kill so we decided to go stage door before The Pillowman and try to meet Jeff Goldblum and Billy Crudup. We were waiting for them to come when who comes walking down the sidewalk? Tim Curry! I LOOOVE this man, so I just HAD to go ask for a picture. He walked right by and I thought I missed my chance and had to run to get a picture. He was really nice about it and took pictures and we wished him good luck on his show.


We then waited about 15 minutes when all of a sudden Jeff Goldblum comes out of a car and walks up the sidewalk wearing this insane outfit. Silky shiny, striped shirt and sweatpants, it was quite odd. This man is TALL 6'7!! I was stunned just because I love this man! So I had no idea what to say, we asked for autographs and just told him how he is such an amazing actor and how everything comes so naturally to him, he was totally flattered and thanked us so much for that. I all of a sudden muttered to myself, "I'm shaking!" Jeff overheard and said, "Aww...Why are you shaking?" I go, "Because you're...you're you!! Do you know who you are?! I love you!"
Jeff burst out laughing and told me that he loved me too and said that he must know who he is now! He started chatting with us for a loong time asking us how old we were and where we were from. He said that I looked 21 and was astonished when I said I was 14. lol. We asked if he could wish my cousins best friend (Who is obsessed with Jeff) a happy birthday over the phone and he said of course. He got on the phone and started talking to her about my pedicure!! lol. It was hilarious. This man did NOT want to leave us! He kept talking and talking, he is truly so nice. He goes, "are you guys gonna see the show?" we said yes because we'd feel bad if we said no. He goes, "OH!!! Well I gotta get ready to impress you guys!" and runs through the stage door. All of a sudden he comes back and waves good bye to us really weird, I don't even know how to explain it, and winked and said I'll see you all later! He was sooooo fricken nice!!


We got to DRS and I was soooooo nervous, I was seriously shaking all over the place and couldn't contain myself and almost screamed I love Greg at the top of my lungs lol. The show was okay, I gave Greg the biggest "yeah Greeeeeg!!!!" when he came on stage, I got wayy excited when I saw him. lol. After every one of his songs I went wild in applause so after Chimp I started yelling and eventually the entire audience was giving him this thunderous applause, lol.


John's understudy really wasn't all that good and kept messing up the lines during DRN, I felt kind of bad for him, because he looked REALLY embarrassed, but Norb got him to laugh so all was well. People started asking me if I knew Greg because I gave him a standing ovation at the end and I told them that we were buddies, they told me to tell him that he was absolutely hilarious.


Well..the moment had come, the show ended, and I was just about to go and have the best 45 minutes of my life. I was nervous as ever and didn't want to say anything stupid. We got up and walked down to the stage door and met up with my cousin Robert. This was the time that I had been waiting for, to go up to the stage door and say, "I'm Liz and I'm here to see Greg Jbara" really loud just to piss off all the screaming fangirls.


Fate would have it tons of teenage girls were there waiting for autographs, I went up and said it incredibly loud and everybody went dead silent. I was really worried that the guy would say that Greg didn't mention me, because there was a pause. All of a sudden..he opened the door, and said, "Greg's dressing room is the first door on the right on the first floor." I got sooo excited and all of the other girls there were like, "What?! That's unfair! But! huh?!?!" and were shooting us dirty looks. lol. As we were walking up the stage, who should we run into? GREG!! There he was, right in the flesh, wearing a grey collared shirt, sketcheres velcrow sandals, and the amazing shorts. He just stared at my cousins and looked dead at me and went, "LIZ!!!" I was soo excited and immediately started beaming and shook his hands and introduced him to my cousins.


Greg walked us upstairs to his d.r. and just showed us how the cam worked so we could make faces. Whilst in there, Jack was there! I shook his hand and was like, "I know you from the cam!!" he laughed. All of a sudden, ANDREW WALKS IN!! He goes right up to me and goes, "YOU'RE LIZ!" he goes, "I had to come in and meet you, I got your letter in the mail and just sent you a signed picture, you'll probably get it sometime next week." I was buggin' out! Andrew Asnes knew who I was!!!! He said something about doing a special picture for me on the cam and then Greg told him that I wasn't watching, I was gonna be there so Andrew wanted to come in and meet me! I introduced him to my cousins. I asked for a pic and he said of course. If you saw me posing on the cam with a guy in a brown shirt, that was Andrew. All of a sudden, Dennis, John's u/s walked in, Greg introduced me to him and said that he and I had known each other from emailing back and forth for a while and he thought that was really cool. Andrew left and before he could go I asked him about deep sea welding, he laughed and said, "well DRS is full of jokes, so I felt my playbill should be too! Ya take your welding equipment, go under water, and boom! deep sea welding!" lol. Tooo funnny.


So Greg said he had to go sign autogarphs, and asked us to sign his guest book and to make faces on the cam and we were welcome to eat pistachios and jelly beans. He opened up the window and said we could watch him sign. I was just loooking around at his tiny dressing room and was just stunned that I was there. lol. I saw WRQ's pencil and picked it up (which if you were there was on the cam! lol.) We watched Greg and Norb sign and Greg came back up and just chatted with us for a while while we were signing his guestbook. I handed him my present, wrapped up in a little bag, he pulled it out and goes, "Oh my god!! It's a chimp in a suit!!! This is awesome!!! And it has a birth certificate and everything! Whip the Chimp?!!" He started laughing and thanked me tons for it, we posed for a pic and then he took another pic with us and the chimp. He got all bummed when he blocked it with the birth certificate. But Barb sent me pics and it seems he posed with it later. lol. He told me the secret of his floating, and it was quite amazing! I forgot about the tattoo! Oops!! lol. The secret of the floating is this- there's a big pipe right above the ceiling and he does pull ups and holds himself up for the cam to take the pic, and man this guy is strong. lol. He said that the chimp was perfect to put in the frame when he wasn't there. I HAD to ask him if he was gonna stay for DRS longer, he said this "all of us are working on renegotiationg our contracts to stay longer. If it all works out, I'll still be here this time next year!!" I was verrrry happy with that. He then said that John may be leaving Jan 18 depending on what's going on, but he also may extend,


It was then time to go onstage, I was soo stunned when I got on there. I got the chills looking into the audience section and just standing on that stage. Words can't even describe, lol. He then went on to tell us how everything backstage worked and just told us a bunch of the funny backstage at DRS stories and secrets which were all hilarious. We went onstage to take pictures and he put his arm around me and I was just like oh my god this is amazing lol. He took pics with my cousins afterwords and all of a sudden his phone rings. He goes, it's gotta be my wife wondering where I am. He picks up his cell and goes, "You're loving husband....oh..hi Zachary" I burst out histerical laughing, it was just so awkward agh I loved it. He is so cute with his son and was in the dressing room tell us about him and Aidan and their school systems and such. It was just adorable the way he spoke to his son, I loved him like a billion times more. lol. Well, 45 amazing minutes and the tour had come to a close. Greg walks us out and thanks us for being such awesome guests and then told me that I was welcome to come visit and hang out backstage any time that I wanted. All of a sudden, HE HUGGED ME! lol. I had no idea that was coming and he gave me a huge hug. I was like omg omg omg omg. I felt like I was going total fan girl on this poor guy, I was still shocked. lol. He asked us which way we were going and sadly we were going in opposite directions and so we said our good byes.


That day was possibly the best day of my life. It turned out to be 10000 times better than I ever expected and Greg has to be the coolest man alive. I never expected my time backstage with him to be as good as it was. And the fact that he told me, and then emailed me the next day, and told me that I was welcome backstage anytime I wanted meant the world to me and more.
