good morning everyone.
Since Christmas is over...I am looking forward to meeting you guys in the summer if everything goes well.
I am off to work, cause I've already had pretty time...
Happy New Year All!
So sorry I missed the webcam. Was celebrating at a friend's house. :) Basically we just watched VH1 I love the 80's marathon for about 6 hours (among other things). It was a rather low-key evening for us.

The lack of posts depresses me.
uhhhh...
I love Gregory Jbara, and I can't wait to see him again this summer!!!
Hello everybody. I hope you've all survived the holidays well. (Amanda - I'm so sorry you've got the illness now. It seems to be moving from GFU'er to GFU'er. When it gets to Annie I'll know for a fact that we're all TOO CLOSE here!)
I believe I've recruited a new convert to the thread. A group of us (Amanda was there) met at the Hard Rock Cafe between Christmas and New Years. DayDreamer was one of the BWW folks who attended. He's from Seattle (I believe) and he was in the area visiting family for the holidays. Well, he was going to NY for a couple of days and he commented that he was going to be seeing a few shows in NY but he didn't really have any desire to see DRS. A couple of us immediately started telling him what an incredible show it was and what an incredible cast it had in it. Well, he got to NY and based on our encouragement, he did go to see the show. Now he LOVES DRS and Greg! He said he was probably going to be stopping by the cam on Wednesday so we'll have to look out for him. Ryan - you may no longer be the sole guy on the thread!
The SI wants me to work Wednesday morning rather than the afternoon, so I may make the matinee cam this week. I hope to see a bunch of you there!
Thanks Mamie. I think it's starting to pass, still ache and can't eat too much which really depresses me...but even more depressing I was looking forward to getting outta the house, and now the weather sucks so I'm prob stuck in a couple more days.
Ooh, you obviously talked about that after I left, I somehow think I would remember shilling DRS...glad you were able to do such a good job in my absence Taking the sister Sunday...gah soo excited!
And saw Brokeback Mountain yesterday. WOW. Unbelievable.
mm...i wanna see that, amanda!
meanwhile, I saw MEMOIRS OF A GEISHA last night. The cinematogrpahy is BEAUTIFUL. and i personally LOVED the movie. i haven't choked up while watching a movie in a while, so this was good :)
I wish I lived near NYC and was older. *grumble grumble*
Yeah finally another guy to appreciate DRS and Greg besides me!
I am sad though. This is the final week Shoshana is in Wicked and my last day to see her will be Sat night ( ; ; ) . Then DRS Sunday. Then maybe Wicked again during the week besides my new buddy from Derrick William's website wants me to get her pics of the new Fiyero. Then DRS Sunday( twice in one week). Then MAYBE DRS AGAIN with Dre to see the new Johnny boy in action. I am going to be completely scoundrelized.
Oh, btw I may be interested in creating a DRS fansite soon. "Dirty Rotten Fans". You guys think it could work?

Actually I just got him to go to the show, Amanda. It was the show itself and meeting dear Mr. J. that sold him. Now he's a true fan.
Ryan - you are sounding like one of those show-groupies! Better watch out or you'll get a 'reputation'!!! This Sunday, next Sunday, and another time after that - does sound like a bit of overkill - but what do I know?
Oooh, I just bought the novel "Memoirs of a Geisha",I've heard good things about it, yet to see the movie however...
Wow I'm quite envious of all your broadwaying Ryan, Would love to hear what you think of the new Wicked cast if you see them, I have tickets for it in a month...
I'm excited as Shoshana is the only Elphaba I've ever seen and JLT the only Galinda, actually I ended up seeing the exact same cast twice...
Happy 2006!
yeah, hopefully Ryan, I can try and make the other time to see Jonathan. exciting!
yay for DayDreamer! glad you liked it!
nothing new here in boring old Jersey. watching Galaxy Quest. one of my favorite movies. so funny. LOVE Alan Rickman. such a great movie.
20 days until I'm back in NYC! I'm growing bored of Florida. lol
Kerrie, love the edgy new avatar!
True Mamie but I expect to not see the show for a while after these two weeks (maybe Sherie's last show). This sunday's tickets were by mistake because we thought John was leaving. Like Amanda, I am having the family coming. Then next week its Amanda, Dre, Kat, and I to see John's swan song. The Jonathan Pyrce show idea with Dre isnt set yet but it may happen. And yeah, I am a big DRS guy. I advertise it everywhere and get people to see it. Show groupie? Nah (though I would be Laura's personal liason if she beckons). I only stage door DRS if people I know will be there (see you Friday circusliz) or I see the actual show. I certainly do not want to harrass Greg and Norbert. That would be quite rude.

okay, so i haven't been in here in a while, and i've missed it to be perfectly honest. and kerrie, florida is not only boring- it is HOT! and humid. and miserable. anywho i am coming up to nyc in the beginning of june and i want to see DRS, but my parents want to see spamalot (we've already seen both), so i'm trying to convince them to let me see DRS while they see spam. i mean the theaters are close and i doubt i could get lost from one to the other, so maybe it'll work out.. and has anyone seen Jersey Boys? because that's top on our list to see too.
and i hope everyone had an awesome christmas etc! happy new year!
"Ryan - you are sounding like one of those show-groupies! Better watch out or you'll get a 'reputation'!!!"
Hmm, not sure how I feel about the above comment...not all reputations are bad...I mean we all know me as the DRS whore but fortunately no one else w/ the show does...Mamie decided I'm like an adopted member of the cast, see that's a good reputation...oh who cares, I'm proud to be a passionate supporter! :-P
Yeah Mamie, that's what's supposed to happen. The show speaks for itself, we just encourage ppl to see it to be wowed by the show. I mean I've brought my mom, my sister, now my other sister, got my 2 cousins to see it, my mom's friend and her family(she saw it twice), my band teacher, my sociology teacher, my friend's parents--they all looved it, plus countless times I've overheard ppl discussing it at another show and turning around and being like it's awesome see it, having ppl ask me about it seeing me carry my poster around, or stuff like that. I'm a good little shill
Cat, if nothing else you'll love Megan Hilty, she's great! I mean I've loved Kristin, JLT and Megan, only didn't like 2 understudies. I'm curious what you'll think of Eden, I'm not the hugest fan, I think if anyone screams she does, but I'm curious to hear reviews of her. Thankfully, I just got a nice Wicked fix w/ Stephanie J. Block as Elphie, and she was fantastic.
I saw Eden in "Brooklyn," I liked her, hard to judge from that show, we all know what the end of "Once Upon a Time" sounds like, it was still rather impressively done. She's not the Elphaba I would have wanted, le sigh, Jenna Leigh Green, but I do believe I'll enjoy it.
I'm excited to see Ben Vereen though, and the Nessa replacement hasn't been announced yet right?
Happy New Year to you too Julia! But I know when I'm sitting here in a rain/snow/sleet/ice storm, you are NOT complaining about Florida being hot..
Well also re: DRS and Spamalot, the theatres aren't far at all and Spamalot is over before DRS so if your parents are concerned, they could be right at the theater to greet you when DRS is over. Good luck!
Cat, I actually like "Once Upon A Time." I mean, I didn't really dislike Eden in Brooklyn--didn't particularly like or dislike, I just remember liking Ramona Keller--but I think it was the Elvis Costello concert where she did a duet w/ Matt Morrison--it was a great song, but by the end they were singing together and I just got really upset b/c it started getting high and he was hitting these notes gorgeously and I was so happy to hear him sing live for the first time since Piazza but I could barely hear him b/c Eden was completely screaming over him. I think that's when I didn't like her, and really decided she was screaming.
Oy, it was cool seeing Jenna as Nessa, hard to not hear Libby, but she was good. Very nice at the stage door, not much taller than me. Isn't Ben Vereen leaving when Sho leaves? And that reminds me--did I mention how awesome it was getting to see Carole Shelley as Morrible again? I mean I always adored her in the role and felt she was underrated but having experienced Rue--well--it made seeing Carole again doubly wonderful.

hi girls and boys.
well Mamie I wish I was sick if that meant that I am close to you all!
Frankly I could use a day or two to relax which I didn't do between the holidays but since a cam is fun...I am looking forward to watching it tomorrow.
(I only cam see John in three times before he leaves the show)
I hope he won't be able to do nothing and he will make a movie or something soon.
