Hi, all!
José, thanks for the report! ... how many times have you seen the show now?
Hoping I get a chance to go see it again sometime before Greg leaves ... and within that timeframe, would really like to see it when Rachel's in. Thoroughly enjoyed Sherie when I saw it ... just think seeing Rachel in the part would be a real treat.
Barb!
I'm excited about Rachel. Jonathan Pryce as well. It'll probably be the first thing I see when I get back to the city in 16 days. (Not that I'm counting.)

Hey All.
i haven't been on here in a long time...but i figured i would put up a post about my most recent trip to nyc.
so i went and saw the show for the matinee on wednesday and it was good. i'm not going to lie...jason gillman is no norbert, but he was good. a lot of times he sounded like he was trying to sound just like norb, like when he would say a line it was just how norb would say it...it was kinda weird. but he was good. the cast seemed a little different...it makes me nervous for when some of the original cast is gone...we may lose a little bit of that chemistry that they all have together. but we'll see.
so everything was great..i started up in the rear mezzanine, and then at intermission i noticed there was one seat open...second row center. so i just went down there and sat there. it was great.
so the best thing that happened was when the seats and the train were supposed to come out for when Lawrence meets Freddy, the train didn't come out...the balcony actually started coming out. i guess something backstage got de-railed, so it took them a few. some stage hands had to come out so john was on stage and goes "looks like its just me and the stage hands...." then he looks around and walks to the very front of the stage and goes "ok so would anyone like to ask me any quesitons about my life in show biz?" and then looks around some more and goes "ok...there should be a train here anytime..i wish trains werent late all the time..." and then the train came out. it was hilarious. good cover, john.
so after the show, i went backstage to see greg...conveniently the cam froze right as i went back, and then that last shot of us leaving (where you can see my butt and thats about it) but thats sad because i was back there awhile so there would have been good shots...we even posed. stupid cam. lol. but then we went and took some pictures onstage, which are on my webshots which i will link below. but yeah so it was great. oh and then that night i saw another show and i had to go back to the drs stage door b/c i promised meg i would get her a pic of andrew...i ended up getting pics of me and JOANNA (who came out!!! it was amazing) and me and shere, and me and andrew...there was like, 3 other people at the door lol it was sad...no one was out there. but it was fun cuz i talked to andrew, joanna, shere, and greg for a long time. it was a good time.
so...yes. i saw greg three or four times whlie i was there, and it was great. it just reminds me how much i love the city and how i wanna live there..so yeah. thats all. just thought i'd let all that out and tell you guys so it was a good few days..i had tons of fun.
My Webshots
Glad you had a great time Ali! Yaay for a surprise Joanna appearance! Trains being late, haha.
Sarah, what are the best discounts? I dunno if I'd be able to commit b/c I would think I'd do a rush or something...but when it and the policies come out, esp. since it'll be June and I'll have the time, I could...make definite rush plans...but not till it gets closer.
Hi all--
Just a quick bye on my way out the door for NYC! DRS is tonight! Hoping to see you there Ryan. I'll be sure to post a note with my reactions when I get back to Albany on Sunday.

I will be there tonight to see Liz. Kerrie...Kerrie...Kerrie! There ya go.
I am deeply concerned about Norbert though. A thread on the main has someome saying he may have nodes. That would be just horrible. Especially with John's last show and Mr. Pyrce's arrival coming shortly. I am hoping everything is okay...
Ok this falls under 'questions I should know the answer to' but can anyone tell me when Greg leaves DRS not that I'm ever going to get back to NY to see it just curious really!
thanks
Emilia - Greg's last day is July 23.
circusliz - I hope you have an INCREDIBLE trip and I know you'll love DRS. I feel so bad about Norbert - but I know that meeting Greg will more than make up for it.
(I'm sorry Ryan - I shouldn't have said that. I'm worried about him too.)

oh Mamie, you beat me...I am to slow maybe I just go to sleep
GUYS! I MADE CALL BACKS FOR LITTLE SHOP!
they were right after school today-and OMG. i had NO IDEA what part i was called back for, so, imagine my HUGE SURPRISE when i found out i was called back for an urchin part! (HOLY SHIZ was my first thought!) i was REEALLY uncomfortable, because, well...out of ALL the parts, including all the MALE parts, the LAST ONE i ever wanted to be was an urchin. why? because, well, to honestly put it, i'm ASIAN. haha. i am SOOOO far away from being black! i have no "soul" and, oh man, i just felt so out of place, especially amongst all these other girls who could belt their hearts out (for those of you who dont know, i'm more of a classical singer, if anything)
SOO...it was an interesting experience. but, i did go through it smiling and having fun. it was my first call back ever, so it was cool, and it was SUCH an honor to have been one of the top 10 people chosen for this hard singing part.
but, no. haha. i DEFINATELY know that i did not get the part of an urchin. and, honestly, i'm VERY happy with that! lol!
Grats, Jamie! Good luck on the next round.
Yaay Jamie!
Hi all--
Can't chat long, as the wild streets of NYC beckon. Just wanted to say that by some lucky chance, Norbert was in the show tonight!!!
One of his daughters had/has a school group coming to the show, and she was really disappointed that he wasn't going to be in the show . So against the doctor's orders he did the show tonight, and will be doing the matinee tomorrow. Then he will be out for who knows how long.
The show was so amazing, and I will be sure to give a full post when I get home. All I can say right now is......Ahhhhhhhhh!!!!
And, thank you thank you thank you Greg!
Hey Liz, sorry we did not have a chance to chat. Hope you enjoyed the tour.
I am of course deeply upset and worried about Norbert but well there is nothing that can be done. I only hope his injury will not keep him out too long (and learning he went on against doctor's orders is not encouraging).

hi mamie (I was about the say "go to sleep, ma'am" before I read your post)
Question: does Bway have any official color? (cause I would like to make a wallpaper for it, ya know)
You could say it for me Annie Though Rainman's over on TNT so I prob will go to sleep--great movie, I can't turn it off despite being tired.
thanks for the info on Greg's last day- still a few months of Andre yet then! So sad I wont see DRS again though
Annie--B'way is often referred to as the "great white way", so I suppose that you could call white it's 'official' color.
Ryan--I too wish we had more of a chance to chat. If all goes right with the world, I will hopefully be moving to NYC sometime in the next few months, and we can meet up then. Hope the info about NLB was helpful, even if it is a little worrisome.
