Aww Dre we were just talking but I was babbling away like I have a tendency to do and just saw your post...hoep everything's okay, you just said you were going to sleep, so that's a good thing.
Said this earlier, but I found V/V in fye records in the vhs musical section for $5. Finished it today. Soo great to see Julie in a broadway show, very very funny, and the staging and dancing was really appealing. All the door-switching was great, and Rachel York is some talent...I've seen her live in Dessa Rose and at Ragtime at Papermill, playing very motherly, soprano-like roles so to see her in this completely different role but so fantastic is great, I am officially a huge fan of hers if I wasn't already.
And Greg, what can you say? Of course weird to hear the boss said in yet another accent, just when you get use to his andre voice and regular voice, another one gets thrown on you lol. I was disappointed last night/the first act b/c his role wasn't that big but I saw it grew in the second act. So great, and I agree that finale is great, so glad he got to show off that voice and the audience looved it.
Definitely one I will be watching quite a few times, and I seriously only browse the musicals to see if there's any videos out I didn't know about to check the library for, I couldn't belive it was there...
Oh and got Out-Of-Towners from the library tongiht. I saw the movie when it came out, don't think I loved it, so prob will only watch Greg's scene b/c if I do remember it was quite funny. Also got camp for anyone interested, heard as a theater geek I need to see it, and planned to watch it tonight, except I got invited to a poker game, course lost some money, just got back so will hopefully watch these tomorrow.
Last couple of days of freedom before classes Thurs...
but DRS prob one fo the Wed shows but small chance tomorrow, that makes me mucho happy! The whore actually hasn't seen the show in 2 months, she's not being a true DRS whore by going that long w/o seeing it, plus I think I'm in a tad withdrawal. I really cannot believe how obsessed with this show I have become lol.
"If there was a Mount Rushmore for Broadway scores, "West Side Story" would be front and center. It snaps, it crackles it pops! It surges with a roar, its energy and sheer life undiminished by the years" - NYPost reviewer Elisabeth Vincentelli
