wickedrentq,
Don't worry, you're still way ahead of me :)
It's just I had to see Rachel's last and Sherie's first. And when you walk by the Imperial during lotto and see that the full cast is in... oops.
ETA: I'm nervous about the heat enough to contemplate driving in, though...

Wickedrentq, I guess I'm just gonna go ahead and order my tickets for the 28th...thanks! :)
Um so how many of you have the Broadway Victor/Victoria on DVD...I want to get it so bad...what are your reviews?
I do see your point Starletta about full cast. I hope we get that today. Yeah, last days are fun. I told my cousins the other day I'm going to see it today they were like same old show or is someone leaving again? Heh.
Dabruzzoan, I found the VHS for $5 in a store in my mall. I love it. Greg's great in his short role, but the best part of it is (shock) Rachel York. She is hilarious and gives a fantastic performance. And I mean everyone else is good too. They do some cool moving around with the sets and stuff.
Dre...now gambling is fun.
I feel so much sympathy for people with birthdays on Christmas now, since most of my friends forgot about my birthday because of Father's Day.
Also, I think I'll give some advice now and tell everyone that if you buy Starbursts, make sure they're not the nasty Icy Burst type. That is all.

I'm seeing DRS for the 4th time either on: Friday or Sunday.
With my best friend. Wow I can't wait.
YAYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks Traci!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARY!!!!!!!
Gambling was ok. Don't really like playing the slots and I won't do it again anytime soon.
dabruzzofan: Greg doesn't have much of a part in the first act but he is hilarious in the second. Rachel York is hilarious but I also really liked Tony Roberts. he is hilarious as well.
oo, going to see DRS with my grandparents next sunday. they're buying so I won't be sitting in box seats this time. hopefully full cast will be there. plus sherie! won't stage door since both my grandparents have bad hips.
anyway, got to check laundry then get back to Drew. talk to you all later!
Happy Birthday Mary, you little scoundrel.

Happy birthday, Mary!
Happy Birthday Mary!
Full cast today Great, great show. I still see so many different things in each show. Jonathan and Norbert especially just throw something new in for each performance. And Rachel was of course singing the **** out of those songs. Jonathan grabbed her for a big kiss out of nowhere in the More We Dance(not where they usually kiss). Jonathan and Norbert were still totally cracking each other up. Ooh, and Sara's gotten in on it too...adding in more fun screams that Jonathan especially responds to, covering up his ears and such.
I got a TDF ticket which was pretty great, side of front mezz. But the entire first act the 6 dead center seats of the front row were empty. So I grabbed one to the right of Fred...no one else did...and had a fantastic time watching act 2 from the first row. I haven't done that in a while.
Jonathan Pryce introduced Marty Bell who said everyone would miss immense talent and her incredibly sweet backstage presence, that this is a home for her, and she's always welcome back, and presented her with a poster/picture...the one of her sitting on the desk during "Here I Am" and it said something like Rachel York...au revior, something else in French, and "You came. You conned. You conquered." It was really cute.
The audience was pretty filled, much more so than the last time I was there, and they were into it. There was a loong cheer after DRN.

Aw, thanks so much for sharing Rachel's last with us. I'm so glad they brought Marty Bell out to honor her. And how nice that they talked about her backstage personality as well as her onstage talent. I have met and chatted with her many times now, and she is the sweetest person - truly.
WRQ, did you notice any photographers at the show? Were they taking pictures of Marty's presentation to Rachel?
And for all you West Coast fans - trot on over to Rachel's Website - www.rachelyork.net. There's a brand new announcement about her next role - Elsa Shraeder in the Hollywood Bowl's upcoming "Sound of Music." So glad she has such a great opportunity so quickly after DRS. It must be difficult to leave such a great show with such great co-stars. It is sad to see the "family" breaking up. (-:

WRQ, you thought the audience was with it today? I thought that they were pretty quiet most of the time. (And what was up with people wandering around today? So many people getting up in the middle of the acts! Coupled with the empty seats, I was thinking WTF??)
I was excited to win the lotto, especially since there were fewer tickets than usual (13). Great show, and everyone was having a lot of fun. More energy than usual, too.
Starletta, were you in the right or left boxes? I wasn't far for the first act at least if you were in the right box. What about the stage door?
Well...I dunno...you gotta remember the last time I was there the mezz was like 1/5 full. They were kind of a bipolar audience...really into some parts, strangely quiet during others.
LC, I meant to PM you a couple of days ago. I've just been lazy.

WRQ,
I just sent you a PM in response to the other thread. I'm up, ready and waiting.

I didn't stagedoor- I can't be out in the heat for any time.
Well, I guess I'm just picky. Take, for instance, the response to "Love Sneaks In"- not much at all. It was that way for most of the songs, except "Great Big Stuff", "Dirty Rotten Number" and "Finale." It's nice to see that many people there, but the dads just weren't cheering!
From the audience point of view, I was in the right boxes.
But Jonathan making us wish him Happy Fathers' Day was just hysterical.
Oh yeah, haha! And you missed it, at the stage door his kids DID call to wish him a happy father's day. So they remembered, just a little late.
And Father's Day...that's why the other box...awww!
Like I said, they were bipolar. They also reacted great to Ruprecht of course. And they laughed a lot, but again not so much other times. I did a lot of solo cheering after songs. I'm sure you somehow heard me behind you doing something, heh.

It's good to know that they remembered. After all, he got 1000 people to wish it to him in the meantime. LOL.
that is awesome!! wish I was there. but my roomate at Drew right now went and saw it. said it was fantastic. and that, since she saw Tom go on as Lawrence last time she saw DRS, she got a pic with him this time. lucky girl. and that she mentioned me to Greg and he of course said he did know me, and that I had seen the show many times. which I have.
glad you guys had fun. Amanda, how was Fred today? lots of smiles? hehe. hehe. was he in jogging clothes? hehe. did he have messed up hair?
Broadway Star Joined: 12/11/05
I'm not Amanda, but I noticed Fred's hair.
It looked like he just rolled out of bed, LOL. Very fun look.
WRQ is amanda, i was talking to her since she sat right behind him.
starletta, I'm guessing there were not a lot of people trying for lotto cause my roomate didn't do lotto but went to the box office later and asked for a cheap ticket and she was given a box seat ticket for $25.
Ooh! Dre, I saw your friend! There were a couple of girls talking to Tom and getting his autograph and taking pictures with him--I was so happy for him. Now I know why.
He wasn't in jogging clothes, but his hair was still messed up.
Star, I said happy father's day to Greg from my seat when Jonathan told us to but since Greg didn't realize I had moved and was right under him in the front, I doubt he heard me. Heh.
yep! she's Japenese. and loved Tom when she saw him last time. hehehe.
awesome! love the hair Fred. lol
silly Greg.
You guys sure had fun. Tomorrow, Starleta and I welcome back Sherie. I am hopeful the audience will be less bipolar and more crazy!
