I think I'm going back to Tarzan tomorrow.

I almost went to the evening performance tonight. I was in the theatre before lotto and everything.
Then I remembered that I have tickets for Tuesday and am going to try to lotto Sunday (anybody out there going to lotto solo? I'm afraid it's going to be nuts because it's Father's Day/Rachel's last and would love to have help). So when I saw it wasn't full cast, I sadly wandered back to Jersey.
who was out for the evening performance? Norbert? he might still be out cause of the mini-series.
Short and sweet slideshow tonight I see.
Geh I'm playing Gertie in Oklahoma rather than just chorus, which is very cool, but I can't get the laugh down : Much harder than I thought...
Starletta, are you going June 20th? Thats when my family and I are going and my mother's friend from Texas is getting the official Greg Jbara Tour (TM). Where are you sitting?
edit: Everything go okay for your mother, Amanda?

I am going June 20, Ryan. I'll be front row mezz (my favorite seats in any Broadway house, actually). How about you?
I'm bashing my head in since they're making it incredibly difficult to consolidate my student loans.

You should send that note to Greg. I'm sure he'd appreciate hearing from such a devoted fan. (I'm so glad you weren't seriously hurt in the accident!)

Ditto. I'm glad you're (mostly) ok!
And seriously, email Greg your story. I bet he would love to hear it.
(Non-DRS, but AHHHHH!!! Piazza on PBS finally. Saving us all from having to watch Britney Spears on Dateline.)
Ah, there are no words for Piazza, I saw the show a year and 15 days ago, and it's so perfect seeing the show again after listening to the cast recording incessantly for a year.
Glad you're alright, new greg stalker fan lurker..

Uh-oh, guys.
I just saw that it's supposed to be 90 on Sunday. I guess I won't be lottoing Rachel's last after all.
This seriously makes me really bummed. And I don't have the cash to buy advanced tickets right now.

I just realized, A year ago today I saw DRS for the first time, the end by Blucat500...
In one month, I would have been here for a year.
I really hope you're alright Dena. and you are a true die-hard fan if that was the first thing in your mind.
Um...you joined BWW 11 months ago actually...
you're right. ****. ok, next month then.

I haven't been here that long.
Heck, a year ago I hadn't heard about DRS. I was more worried about finishing grad school and my health. Things would've been a lot easier if I'd had this great show to lift my mood then.
I am at the ten month mark so far. Fast approaching the anniversary though :)
I saw Phantom tonight and realllly enjoyed it. Better cast than the movie by far! (ducks to avoid Amanda's Gerard spear)
Howard McGillin is pretty cool.

Hmmm... is DRS worth making myself (temporarily) sick and looking like a fool?

I went to John Shaw's (the guy I made a thread about) funeral today and he got full military honors (21 gun...) and one of the men who spoke had been an instructor of his at Fort Benning. His name was Benson. The high point of my day was seeing his name and saying "Sargent Benson" to my self DRS style.
Just thought I'd share.

I wish someone would record DRS before Jbara bows out. His deadpan line readings have always been the highlight of the show and, unfortunately, aren't preserved on the OBC album.
hehehe, Um, did you join today to not so subtly hint around for "recordings" of DRS with Gregory Jbara?
Although, incidentally, if it makes you feel better, they do exist en masse...
I would edit your message about the "recordings."

hi guys.
No Enlglish classes till September that's why I am typing now...I miss it terribly but this morning finally I have had time to go swimming and buy a handbag.
And I think I will watch the afternoon cam, just for the good old times' sake
My party was last night, it was pretty fun, but eh. A lot of people forgot. We saw South Pacific, I'm not really a fan, but the staging was cool.
Ryan, my mom's fine, thanks for asking. I visited her yesterday. She's fine when she lies down but obviously is in pain when she walks. She's very happy with her smaller stomach. I think we can bring her home tomorrow.
And no one misses the Gerard spear...though I won't hurt you too bad since you at least got his name right this time :-P
Don't get me wrong, I love Howard, but the stage and screen are two very different mediums. Look at Julia Roberts. She's great in movies, but people don't think she's right for the stage. The two require different things--you're so much closer in a film. I'm not saying you can never compare casts, but they need different casts for different mediums. I still say Gerry did an amazing job of conveying all the different emotions and such in the close-up environment, which is pretty difficult.
Anyone planning to see Yazbek's new show Burleigh Grimes at Dodger Stages?
Dabruzzo fan, do you know about pastdated tickets? Keep your stubs from the performance you missed. Then call the box office the day you would like to go. Ask them if they're doing pastdated tickets for tonight/today's performance. I think you need to call after 11, though each theatre might differ. If they are, you'll be able to go with your unused ticket stubs. They'll give you the best seats available. You should be good for any day at DRS, they only don't do it if they're soldout.
I have a battle wound from softball. I scored by uhh...sliding head-first into home plate. Or I fell down, and got a really bloody knee...same difference.
Sarah, hope your flight home went well and you're doing okay. It was a ball, it was a blast, it was a shame it couldn't last
I was soo happy with the Tonys, especially for La Chanze. The dress rehearsal was awesome. They had stand ins for some presenters and all the winners and they got to make fake acceptance speeches. I wanted to do that. The best was this skinny white guy who pretended to be James Earl Jones. We liked him better.
I think I dreamt instead of Sherie coming back, that Sarah Jessica Parker was taking over for Rachel York...weird.
Tomorrow shall be sad. I love Sherie, but will miss Rachel.
