Sorry Dre. I told you there's a fat chance I'll be up. Did you make it through the intro to Maria okay, or did you crack up?
Nah Dre that wouldn't be a problem. I'd just have a lot more consecutive posts with to be continued and such in them...
Someone call me 5 minutes before Conviction starts and remind me!! No matter how hard I try I'll start doing something and then half the show is over
I'm staying over in the city Wednesday night. Excited.
I'm going to be in NYC on April 18th!
Lotto-ing Hairspray, and then if I lose- sprinting to Spelling Bee. Or if anyone can think of a better plan...
DRS! duh!
i'll try and text you amanda. can't promise unless i get my propestive to remind me. haha.
no, didn't crack up. but did giggle when i switched the mic off. cause then i thought about saying, who is probably still asleep. haha.
Yeah but no. Parents don't want to see it.
Not to mention theres 3 of us an only 2 lottery spaces per win, so I'll probably just end up going to NYC and then going home. w00t yay.
Hairspray is a fairly easy lotto, so I think your chances there are pretty good.
But if for some reason that doesn't work out, don't go home...rush something!
Nuts! I missed the show today Dre, but glad to see everyone enjoyed it. Yay to TSN being there even if its Kate and Craig's cut duet.
Oh and Amanda, you and Traci's idea is quite intriguing. If you are ever serious about publication, I could find you guys find some editor addresses for you from my Writer's Guide. This sounds look one heck of a fun Broadway lover coffee table book.
You can always go to TKTS too, you can get some good tickets right before a show annd there aren't usually lines then.
traci, amanda, are you guys copying every post or just the detailed ones about performances?
Actually it's just Amanda doing this not me but it was my idea for her to do it. And as far as I know it's just her posts about performances.
Yeah, Traci just gave me the idea.
No, it's not every post I ever made--you think that would be JUST 122 pages? It's kind of subjective, but...basically my loose guidelines were descriptions of amazing days/nights I had...so..my backstage stories, my softball stories, amazing one night events...Adam's concert, Costello concert, 24 hour plays w/ both descriptions and things that happened after...and just a little bit regular descriptions--like I put in my posts about Musical of Musicals: the musical b/c that was an awesome show, really funny, and also Sweet Charity b/c I saw Charlotte in it and she was so fantastic.
Sounds like a fun book. If you intersplice it with stories of your life, you can call it:
Memoirs of a Theatre Fan: The Life and Times of the Wickedly Rent Q Girl Panda
- #1 on the NYTimes bestseller list.
- Feature film starring .....Kirsten Dunst as Amanda and Gerard Butler as...um...a love interest?
Edit: Thanks Barb...I type too fast ><

::whispers:: Ryan, I think it's Kirsten Dunst.
Hold on there...if Gerard Butler is gonna be in my movie as a love interest, Kirsten Dunst sure as hell isn't playing me--I am!!
I dunno about it being a bestseller though Ryan. Some people find it difficult to read one of my long posts...can you imagine them all reading a book with all of them?
yay cat! back to the regular avatar! love it!
I'm so confused, what's this about a book? I think I skipped a post somewhere.
Thanks for the help guys! I know that Spelling Bee's lotto starts later but I'm still not sure if we could get there in time. If there really are no lines right before a show we'll be sure to check in there.
What do you mean by rush it Amanda?
If all else fails you could always lotto both DRS and Q at the same time since the're right across the street. That's what I did and I ended up winning Q.
You can't do that anymore, Traci. It is not fair that people wanting to see a specific show have to lose to a person playing two lottos at once. The DRS lotto guys says he's extra careful now. You have to be at DRS when your name is called or no dice. I agree.
that guy at the DRS lotto is HOTT! and with British accent? extra hott! That is one reason why i go back and try for lotto all the time.
I should have worded that better. She could play one lotto while her parents play the other. That way she has the chance to see either show without taking a chance away from someone else because she put her name in both lottos.
But I agree about having to be right there when your name is called and not across the street at a different lotto. That is cheating other people out of a chance to see the show.
Edit: Not as hott as the Q lotto guy. He's younger (my age about) and was just about the cutest thing I've ever seen. He even told me to 'Screw the other person' when my name was the last one called since I had asked for 2 but there was only a single left. He said I difinately made the right choice by taking they single seat. And it turned out to be the best performance I'd ever seen of the show. So what if I ditched my parents to see it alone. It was well worth it.
Mary, we're talking about my mini(err not really mini) but a word document I'm putting together of most of my longish posts, just a little memoir for me to have about all my fun/amazing nights in Broadway world.
I think the Q guy lets you get away with running over to Q, but not the DRS guy. I don't know, the last time I played Q was back in September.
Thanks for the publisher recommendation Ryan, but I really don't think there'd be THAT many people who would be too interested in reading a book where I ramble on a page about Adam Pascal kissing my cheek...
Traci, going with parents. PARENTS.
They won't let me see Q! (And I don't think DRS is a good idea with them).
Their favorite show is Wicked. I hope that tells you about my parents.
Excuse me Miss Mary...I happen to love Wicked. It's one of my favorites. What is that supposed to tell us about your parents exactly, hmm?
They wont let you see Q? That sucks. It's a great show. I guess then Spelling Bee is out of the question huh.
My parents hated it Q, which is why the last two times I went by myself.
My parents' favorite show is Wicked too. Even my dad said it was his favorite that we've seen. Me, eh, I just thought it was OK.
See Sweeney!
They both think Sweeney is creepy and boring.
Actually, Amanda, I like Wicked too. But I don't obsess over it like my dad does. He IS an Idina fangirl. Seriously.
Anyways, Bee isn't out of the question. They don't know about MUE. I like to think of it as a nasty suprise, they probably won't care too much- but that's why my first pick is Hairspray.
Are Bee/Hairspray on TKTS much? (I'm thinking of going earlier to the one not in times square to avoid the line... is it in the south end? Is that a place? Oh man I suck. I might as well live in Connecticut.)
