The internet allows you to become friends with people based on what you say, not what you look like and part of me feels like a bit of that was damaged.

1. The people involved in this were all long-time members, and people who have known each other's personalities for a long time. If any relationships change because some people now know what other people look like, that's utterly pathetic.
2. insomniak - you didn't show anybody a picture of yourself. Obviously if you keep sulking around moping about how unnattractive you might think you are, views about you might change. But nobody can judge you if you haven't shown them anything on which to judge. That's carrying it too far. People here have become your friend because of your contributions, and you know that.

A lot of that was damaged, Som. Even though that was probably not the intent of the thread. We already had successful "Hot" threads for members to post their pics - was it necessary to start a thread that ranked people over each other?

And no because I'm an idiot, I get put into a position of having to feel badly about this? And don't tell me "it's okay because you're cute."

In *their* defense, no ranking was done, and nobody called anyone ugly, *especially* those that they don't know what they look like.

Do we see any guys getting all bent out of shape about this? And they're mostly *gay* (no offense at all) guys, who probably WOULD. Doesn't that show you how silly you're being? And again, don't tell me I can just think it's okay becuase I'm cute. There's a whole wide world out there of people much more beautiful than I.
