That article completely ruined my concentration on my project.
He's interesting because he's just not afraid to say ANYTHING, about sex, about admiring an eighties movie star, about crying.... anything. I wish I could be like that.

I'm kind of concerned about this seven-show thing. Vocal rest?
Well, I think that Chrysanthemum's comment about that she makes him soar answers the "why is he still married" question.
SH*T. That's... weird. I think if the schedule were spread out the way it used to be, he wouldn't need to do that. But now they have THREE two show days, which is just absrud.
As requested:
i agree....Chitty's schedule is just...hm. But as long as he still does all the Saturday night shows (which is when I always go) then it's A-OK (as much as it can be ok for Raúl to not be on stage! which is NEVER ok! I'm wierd.)
side note - remember how I said my eye was hurting me this morning? I finally got over to the infirm and now I have a loverly PATCH on my eye. I'M A PIRATE.
The Sunday changes makes sense, for kids, I guess.
What's the matter with your eye?
yeah, that makes sense.
they don't know what's wrong with it...it's just really irritated and painful...i have an appt. with a real eye doctor tomorrow...but i wear contacts and don't have glasses and am super blind, so i have to wear the patch otherwise i get really bad headaches and it hurts my eyes even worse. so hopefully i'll get all fixed tomorrow and either be able to wear my contacts again or i'll order glasses.

I once lost a contact on the bus! I had to go the whole day, in Toronto, with only one. I had a huge headache by the end of the day. And it was an interesting experience to go see a baseball game like that, hehe. I think I would have welcomed the patch!
My brother leaves his contacts in the sink. I hate it.
Feel better!

Thanks, Em! *sighs* God bless Show People.
That is very true: three double shows is *very* demanding. I hope his voice stays in ship shape. He's got through March to go. And even if he's not in the best of conditions, he will push himself as much as he can. Which might not be the best thing.
If he pushes too hard, he'll end up doing what he did in Taboo. I'm kind of sad... I really enjoy Sunday night shows sometimes. Oh, well.

He's just got the sweetest heart.
I was actually planning on doing rush for a Sunday night show later this month. Now I have to decide if I still want to or not. Ack.
I am also very thankful for the little bit of him that I have in my life. He makes me think and strive to be a better person. And that's rare.
I think that's a really good statement... and sort of how I would sum up WHY I'm so attached to many of these actors. They aren't images on a screen, they are -- even in the very small sense that they are -- a tangible part of my life. And whatever they let us have, because they're such unbelievable people, is an incredible blessing. And even if we don't have them in our lives in a sense that we have a true "relationship," I think we are lucky to have them in our lives in some capacity.... people who we can truly admire, and who deserve more admiration than they get.

Wow, that's a great interview!
Okay, my mom is being wierd. We were in the kitchen cooking, and SHE asked ME if I wanted to listen to Taboo or Spelling Bee! I was like "Ummm, o-o-okay! But can we listen to ttB?" She said yes, but then she didn't like it. But still, she wanted to listen to Taboo!! Now that's wierd.
Weird, but good! My mom doesn't let me control the radio in the car anymore. She knows I'll just stick my iPod connector in the tape player and make her listen to Adam/Raul.
I need an iPod. And we need a cd player in our car.
How're you?
Raul better not be hurting his voice! He better be in when I see Chitty again...

I like to think he is a part of my life. Even if he doesn't know it. But no matter how small of a part he plays in it - it's so important to me.
He really inspires me to be better than I am. He inspires me to strive for what I want. Not so much as a performer because that's not what I want to be. But just as a human being. He is a remarkable human being I really admire and respect him.
Now, I wonder how he would take that if I ever got the courage to tell him.
I'm so happy to be able to talk with people that feel the same way!

Exactly. I hope and think that he'd be flattered.
My little stormcloud and I are going to go do some studying. I'm approaching crunch-time... one exam and one paper due each tomorrow and Wednesday. Oy.

We have medical problems right and left! Perhaps it's contagious? *eyes the kitten* I know what you're up to.
I don't know about inspiring, but I find his interviews unusual and revealing.
it's so true! and he definately is a part of our lives...even if we're not REALLY part of his...
great, what you said is basically what i wrote to him in the letter...in a much less eloquent or even understandable way i'm sure! haha.
i bet if anyone ever said that to him, he'd be incredibly flattered and not know what to do...it seems he's very modest like that. but i think that he would take it to heart and be genuinely glad that he can reach people on that level. which is why i heart him so.
He's mysteriously passing medical mysteries off to his fans. He should at least do it in a way that's fun.
It's uncommon for someone to reveal so much about himself in an interview -- to just lay his heart out like that.
*doesn't study*
oh hell...I just told my roommate that she can watch tv because I was going to listening to "Kitten" on my iPod. When she asked who they were, I had a bit of a panic attack and said an emo band. She backed off without any more questioning. I have never actually called him kitten, even in a post. Maybe kook and I talked about him that way, but I don't think so...
You guys are corrupting me. What if I call him that to his face; "Hey Kitten, would you sign this?" Sounds like a cheesy pick-up line. Oy!
Oh, and that article was amazing. He is honest to the point where it is actually brutal. But, you have to respect him for that. Now I have to watch the Chatterbox video again...until my 3 hour lecture at 6:30. Grr...

*delays homework* I don't care much...
Maybe I'll go read The Berlin Stories instead. Have any of you tried it?
LOL.
It's true enough, angelic, that it just sorts of gets to you.
I've read part of it. It's on my list of "books I'm in the middle of and really will finish someday," about which I expect grief from you. It's very good. A bit dry and textbooky at times, but worth it.
I want to watch the Chatterbox. My roommate is gone to a long class for the night, so I can do that without having to hear her laugh, and I don't have to worry about my desire to be antisocial.

You could write an entire book about books you're going to read eventually. Textbooky isn't always bad for me. If it's the type I'm interested in, like a character study, I'll happily read through pages of description.
Angelic, I'm sorry, but that's funny! I'm afraid I'll slip up someday, too. Of course, I'd actually have to talk about him in order for that to happen.
