I'm taking a "study" break, too!
One day down, four more to go until the weekend!
My school's having a poster fair this week, so I imagine I'll be spending entirely too much money tomorrow, eek!

Posted: 10/3/05 at 7:32pmThank God. This week needs to end as fast as it began.

You think I'm going to tell? I think I told you, anyway. Maybe you don't remember.
#4007A Kitten Cupcake
Posted: 10/3/05 at 7:33pmat my old school, I had about a 3.1, 3.2 tops...here, I usually average about a 3.5 or 3.6.

I thought I did, Emcee, but you'll kindly notice that the comment was not addressed soley to you. No need to get snippy. If you don't want to answer, then don't.
I had a 4.3 last quarter and a 3.99 (no joke) cummulative. My freshman year was a straight, lackluster 3.7, so it's taking a while to bring it up. Everything's weighted like mad this year, though, so I'll be ok with As and a few Bs.

Then it would look like I wasn't "being nice." You're one to talk about snippy.
I still can't deal with the fact that people have over 4.0 (or where I went to school, over 100). It's unfair.

I don't even KNOW... I don't think we're big on GPA's here. Or maybe I just never dealt with it.
I don't know what they'll have at the fair, but last year, I wanted just about every third poster I saw. I got a poster of the Muppets last year, and a cool panoramic one of Times Square.

Posted: 10/3/05 at 7:39pmi don't think you can get higher than a 4.0 at UConn.
#4015A Kitten Cupcake
Posted: 10/3/05 at 7:39pmI'm surpised that at a school like this there's little competition, other than "competition with yourself." We rarely even discuss grades amongst friends. It's a welcomed change, though.

Why is it unfair?
That's odd. *makes note* I'm going to have to ask Tiff if GPAs are a big thing in Canada. I have a print of Times Square at night on my wall that I got in Battery Park (I know, I know. So very Tourist).
greatdct, what are you up to?
#4017A Kitten Cupcake
Posted: 10/3/05 at 7:41pmmy shock is exactly the opposite...that at a huge state school people are super competitive about grades...they break the Dean's List down by schools, and in the school of Ed and the school of Nursing, you have to have a 4.0 to be on the DL...in the FA school I think it's something like 3.7

What with weighting and all. The whole process makes so many things... pointless. And it's just unfair that people are that smart. But if you can get above 100, what's the point of the scale? It's totally thrown off.
I LIVE in New York and I have those prints. Ain't nothin' wrong.

I should be in school. But a lot of stuff got mixed up and confused so it just made sense to start a semester late.
I'm moving to NYC in January for college. Until then I'm back and forth between the city and TN. Doing... nothing productive. Though I am doing my part to help Chitty's attendance.

Posted: 10/3/05 at 7:44pmI know they weren't at my high school. We did averages, though. I can't remember what mine was... high 80's, low 90's? Somewhere in there.

Way to be.
Even though it's invalid to say that I'm going to personally finance... the show? Raul's happiness?... I'll think of something.
*whimper* My mom just called and I gave her a hard time for no reason. I hate being this way -- all pent up and angsty.

Oh, lucky you, Greatdct.
For some of us freaks, Em, a 4.0 is not good enough. The people in my special little program are obsessive about grades. Nothing is secret. And why shouldn't we overachieve, damnit?
Kook, that made no sense at all.
