Okay, girls. I'm off to Shower Land. I'll be back in about 15 minutes!
My screensaver is a big scrolling series of pictures -- mainly Adam/Raul. I stare at it uselessly... I'm sad.
Here, Angelic. This is what I posted about the movie --

I'll never forget the first time I heard his voice. I just holed myself up in my room with the TTB CD, sitting in front of my CD player for hours -- in awe.

Emcee, I remember that thread! It's going to be released to theatres? Everywhere?! Be still my heart!
They weren't really very specific or informative Allie, but I hope so. It deserves to be seen!

TTB was the first time I fell in love with his voice, as well. I believe it was "Johnny Can't Decide". That's still one of my favorite songs on the recording.

I'd be happy with a DVD. Documentaries don't do so well around here.
Thanks Em!

I'm listening to "Hushabye Mountain" from earlier this month, now. He's just too much. He gives me chills.

Oooooooh. This documentry sounds mucho promising. I hope I get to see it.
I know it's too early to do this, but I'm going to make a Christmas list right now. LMAO...I need to build up my cast recordings collection, number one. Number two...I like making Christmas lists.
Don't have too much fun without me, eh?

I used to always compare his voice to thousands of hands all over your body. Yup, that's pretty much the best way I can describe it.

this is for G (great...I've decided to call her G from now on...why? because I CAN. haha.) Here's Raúl's whole quote about bringing his work home with him (from the ATW interview.) As per usual, it's fabulously poetic.
"It's hard for me to not take my work home with me. I don't mean I live as the character, but acting is a strange process, it's a little bit of a delusion. You have to fool yourself into thinking like that character for a while, and then you don't think that like character. And whatever that character feels, or thinks, if you're doing a great job, it influences your life a little bit. I've never been more of a visionary than when I was trying to play George in "Sunday in the Park with George." I've never been more political when I was playing Charlie in "Merrily We Roll Along." I've never been prouder to be a New Yorker than when I was Jon in "tick, tick...BOOM!" And I've never been so moved by an experience in the theatre than when we were doing "The Normal Heart." ..."
He's fabulous.

Thank you SO much! I remembered hearing that and loving it but I couldn't remember it exactly. Thanks so much for posting that, K! Haha. I'll call you K!
Anyway, he is truly amazing to get so deeply involved in his work like that. Truly, truly amazing!

I think all great actors HAVE to get that involved. People always say "Oh, so and so is a great actor...they can be crying/screaming/whatever one second, and perfectly fine the next. They can turn it on and off." But if they can turn it on and off, how connected to the emotion are they?? It's all fake. With Raúl, I always feel like the emotions are real, and the fact that he -can't- turn his feels on and off is a true testament to his talent.

*melts* I love that. So damn elequent. How does he do it?

That was really well put. I agree with you completely. His talent really astounds me. It's hard to fathom at times.
his talent is on my list of questions that keep me up at night. questions like, "what happens after we die?" or "is there really a god?" or "which came first, the chicken or the egg?" it's like "how the hell does raúl esparza DO what he does, night after night, and just so completely hit the nail on the head EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.?"

Your fan photos are fun, Chrys! You've got a great one with Sherie!
heh. It's true -- he can put anything into words and have it make perfect sense.

I'm back! I've made a super long X-mas list. It's mostly Broadway stuff...lots of cast recordings and show merchandise.
I'm going to sleep, actually. I feel too tired to stay up. If anyone wants to see my long list, PM me, and I'll send you the list tomorrow afternoon.
Night, folks.

Ha ha, thanks! I've definatley accumulated a whole bunch with Raul.... And I actually don't take pictures with him very often! My favorite is probably the one my nephew took of me, my best friend, and Marc. His expression is just terrefic! Now all I need is a picture of the back of his head. Dear god in heaven, I do love that scar....
Eh, that picture of me and Sherie is something. She looks beautiful, and I look...well...NOT. Bless her, they were so exhausted that day. They were having rehearsals in the day time, and previews at night.
