I'd bank on him at least doing it for the last show.
i bet he'll stagedoor the final show...he doesn't seem like the kind of guy to skip out on something like that.
People will totally be there to support him, and he knows that.
Yeah. I just needed reassurance. I just told my sister that I'll be in NYC for New Years, so now that it's out there as a definite, I wanted to make sure it would be worth it. Not like Chitty isn't worth it enough, but I don't want to worry about him going into hiding again like he did after Normal Heart and me never get a chance to met him.
I'm totally watching that Rent lunch video again. I'm such a geek

I personally think he would stage door the final performance...I just have this instinct.
I showed my mom the video from broadway.com (the Elvis Costello one) and showed her the Raúl clip. She CRINGED at every thing he sang! Argh.
"Do you like him, Mom?"
"Eh, noooooo..."
awwwww. My mom loves him. She doesn't like when he growls, though.

And...she didn't like Norbert...and she wasn't amused with Daphne...and when Elvis came on, she was TOTALLY amused.
When Raúl sang, she had this expression on her face that said, "Ouch!"
Gav, maybe your mom should start posting on Datalounge
I keep my mom and Raul faaaar apart because I doubt she would like him and that would just annoy me. But, because we saw Aida together, she likes Adam. So, it's all good. Although she loves the song 'Petrified' which makes her the coolest mom in the world. Well, the coolest mom from Jersey who has "Gin and Juice" "Petrified" and "Tiny Dancer" on her mix-tape.

You're absolutely right.
My mom actually likes Adam. She said, "I like his voice. It's unique."
Heh, your mom is cool. My mom gave up on cool music- now she just listens to contemporary Christian music
My mom doesn't know Raúl exists. I think I tried to explain it when I saw Chitty for the first time, but I gave up. I've liked Idina for 5 years now, and I still have to remind her who I'm talking about.

omg ur mom isznt familar wit edena!?!?!??!?!!!111?!
Heh.
If your mom doesn't know Raúl exists, there's something wrong with her.
the only thing my parents know about Raúl is that he's in Chitty, which, according to my dad I've seen 57 million times (actual number given.) They don't quite get it...that's ok.
I doubt my mom would like the music i listen to...that's ok...she likes Amy Grant. hehe.
Well, my mom kept asking if Raul was gay. She thinks he's weird. And her enjoyment of his talent seems to have diminished now that she thinks he's weird. She thinks he's cute. And funny. And runs like a faerie. She hasn't seen enough to know how F*CKING BRILLIANT he is.
She thinks Adam is gorgeous, and likes that he's nice to me. She hates his voice. And when Raul's resembles Adam's, she goes "Why does he DO that?" oy.

Well, my mom knows all of this information about Raúl/Adam because of me. Trust me.
Okay, gals. Going to take a shower, and then I'm actually watching a show on UPN. It's called All of Us, and I'm watching it because I went to the taping of the episode they're airing tonight. It's called "The Spy Who Smoked Me".
I'll see you all in about an hour!
*wave*
*wave* Hi.
My dad LOVES "Petrified"!
My dad likes theater, so he at least appreciates it. But he's more of the Rodgers & Hammerstein era, he doesn't really pay attention to more modern musical theater.
My dad only likes things that are big and flashy.
Both of my parents love Rent and are exicted for the movie. They, therefore, also like Adam after seeing him in both Rent and Aida and sometimes my mom listens to Adam's CD (when I leave it in the CD player in the car). *is proud of theatre parents - who originally introduced me to it* They both also like TTB but I don't think they know/get the specialness of Raul. My mom was being annoying before about me going to see Chitty again. She was saying, "don't you think it's a bit much? you really want to see THAT again?" I told her it's mainly to see Raul perform, but she doesn't get that and is going to make me feel guilty about it.
my parents know veeery little about Broadway. they like it ok, but we got into a big fight in October because they got tickets to see the Producers, which my mom was CONVINCED she had heard that Matthew and Nathan were back in it. I was like MOM, they are NOT, they are doing a different SHOW!! She thought she knew...it was fun to say I told you so. hehe. But that's why I have my adopted family, who see everything and EVERYTHING there is to see on Broadway, and off!! Benzy92 is my adopted bro-hay.
I've converted my sister to Rent. I just told her about the screening and she was like "OMG I'M SOO JEALOUS!" (um, it was on AIM). Just last year, my sister was rolling her eyes whenever I mentioned Rent, so I'm really excited about the progress. She even sent me a text message earlier telling me how many minutes until Rent comes out because she checked the website.
My mom thinks I've seen Chitty three times. I let her have her illusions.
My parents think the only time I'm going to be in NYC all semester was my trip back in the middle of October. Uh, yeah, I'm going to be there about 4 times before winter break.
see, the thing i love about my parents is that our relationship is based on joking around all the time. so if i tell my parents i've seen Chitty six times, they think i'm joking. that way, i don't get in trouble (unfortunately, my mom can do math and likes to add up how much money i spend on B'way stuff and kill me.), AND i'm still telling them the truth!! haha.
my parents think seeing chitty twice is excessive. :-/
other than that, my dad actually follows broadway to some degree, but now, they mostly get any information from me.
