I'm off to see Rent. It's only the second time so I can't wait!

Aww, thanks guys! I did fit in yummy birthday cake. And I also fit in another round of Rent this afternoon. And then I ate...again. Hehe. Only one more fun birthday and then it's all downhill. Ah well. Ok, back to writing this stupid essay. Sigh...

Between several of us, we probably have enough Chitty confetti to have a party!

Hehe. That'd be fun to gather all of our confetti and do something with it.

Could you imagine sending it to the theatre? Here, we thought you could recycle this.

Emcee, that's exactly what I was thinking when I read Alix's post. Like "This'll get you through one more performance to make it into the New Year, right?" a complex fellow

Happy birthday! And happy belated turkey day. a complex fellow

Mine wasn't very good. :/ I got in a fight with my family. And it all started with The Normal Heart.

Oh well. Home tomorrow and then off to the city on Thursday! :)

I bickered with my family a lot, but nothing too serious.

I'm sorry, g!

I hate that. It got pretty ugly and I'm still very uncomfortable. I'm ready to leave. :/

But on a happier note - my friend saw Chitty tonight and Raúl came out and signed. She got a picture with him holding a playbill that says "hi" for me. And it's SO cute!! And his hair is growing back.

I was on the phone while she did this and I heard him rambling on about the car and how much fun it is to some guy. :)

I should be in bed. I think my grandparents would have a stroke if they caught me online at this hour.

Thankfully my Thanksgiving wasn't too stressful with family quibbles and whatnot. Just the one drunk uncle who...well, did what drunk uncles do, argued and yelled then sat and watched football. It was fine. Hope everything turns out ok, G.

Oh, unrelated, but did anyone read 'Destiny of Me'? I have the double book, but I have yet to read it (Normal Heart is so good, I don't want to ruin it with a mediocre follow-up).

Night, ladies!

My mom couldn't decide between being nice to me out of happiness that I was home, or being nasty to me about various things.

I read it. Read it. It's much more theatrical, whereas The Normal Heart is very dramatic and in-your-face. They're both great in different ways, but The Destiny of Me is usually considered the "better" of the two plays. Definitely read it. It's far from mediocre!

I cut my friend out of the picture because I don't want to plaster her face all over the internet!

The best part is he doesn't know who he was saying hi to. Haha. So I get the cute picture without him thinking I'm silly. a complex fellow

Anyway, I HATE close-minded people. And people who can be so cruel. And I hate even more that it has to be my family. There is definitely a divide between us now. I cried like a baby and I don't think I can get over it.

I actually just finished reading The Destiny of Me a few nights ago. I thought it was incredible. Very powerful and it gives so much of a backstory for Ned Weeks' character. I find that I enjoy reading The Normal Heart even more now.

And it helps because I pictured Raúl saying all of the lines while reading it.

I really am going to sleep now. 'Night!

If it has the Em seal of approval, then I should have read it yesterday. It must be amazing. Will get right on that!

ETA: You guys post too quick for my mom's ghetto computer to keep up with! Now I have no choice but to read Destiny of Me since it has dual recommendations from two such qualified sources! Seriously, goodnight this time.

I liked Destiny of Me too, but I definitely prefer The Normal Heart. It's definitely more powerful when it all takes place in a linear, realistic way.
